Well gents I giess I have won the NEA lemon lottery.
I have tried in pmags and xcr 10 rounders with the same result:
avg 1 in 5 failures:
Federal = failure to load, light primer strike
Honest steel match = failure to load, light primer strike
Aguila =failure to load, light primer strike

avg 1 in 10 failures:
Hornady black = failure to load, light primer strikes

avg 1 in 20 failures:
Hintenberger = failure to load, light primer strikes

It behaves better when it is cold so I assume I have a too tight chamber.

Looks like I'll be putting this rifle aside till I can put in a new barrel and adjustable gas block, because in it's present state it is completely not reliable.

Try SAAMI spec gauges. If the breech closes cleanly on a GO, there is nothing wrong with the chamber.
I don't see how a new barrel and gas block would necessarily solve the problem. Look for an easier, cheaper solution before doing anything drastic.

i have go no go gauges and have tested the chamber with both the bcl bolt and my aeroprecision bolt, both were good to go

If the rifle accepts the gauges with both original and aftermarket bolts, then the chamber isn't tight.
Are the light primer strikes from the bolt carrier not being all the way forward, or might a new hammer spring solve that problem?

What trigger? My match trigger experience has them not popping harder primers. Doesn’t explain the failure to load though, maybe not enough gas?

If the action opens far enough for the bolt to get behind the top cartridge, the recoil spring should drive the bolt carrier home.

yes I believe it is because the round is not fully forward as sometimes I get a failure to load with the trigger not reset, but sometimes the trigger has reset and gives me a light primer strike

So it doesn't have a stock trigger? Is it failing to load when you attempt to chamber the first round? There is more to troubleshooting than throwing new parts at it.

yes regardless of whether it is first round, 3rd round or last round, happens randomly

Does it work with the original trigger group?
Carrier group action nice and snappy when cycled, opened and released? Barrel extension nice and clean, so bolt lugs can rotate easily?
Some 102s are reported to have loose gas rings. Gas leakage could result in the action not opening fully.

gas rings are tight on the aeroprecision bolt
carrier group cycles ok, not as snappy as my g2 though, no way, the g2 slams it home with authority, I don't feel the same with the 102.
Never tried with original trigger, but I could put it in, and try it again on some other day.
