Options for a first handgun, Zastava m57?

Don't bother with the Zastava.
Tenda just released tons of surplus pistols like the Beretta M51, Beretta 92S, CZ85, CZ85B, CZ75, Browning High-Power and FN MK3. You have a lot of choices, much better than the ZastavaM57. Prices are very reasonable.

Another good option. I was going to suggest this but couldn't remember which sponsor had these. Lots of good options there and all good value.

Yes, I have two so far from S&J, a BHP and Taurus 92/917 stainless/ alloy, prices on the BHP are similar to tends at $699. And the Taurus is a deal at $484. Free shipping and two mags w the Taurus
! These were built on Beretta machinery look awesome! S&J is getting more in every couple days, some beretta 92 there now and BHP!

I had one and it was fun, but I was never able to shoot it well. I could never even get 5 our of 5 shots on a 20 yard pistol target with it. I replaced it with a NZ85B I bought new, had a warranty issue, and the dealer (Canada Ammo) promptly exchanged it; I love it. I have a Norinco 1911, great pistol too; I also have a norinco NP58; like it too, but the 1911 and the NZ85 are my favorites... After my High Standard .22.

If you want a 9mm, the NZ 85 feels and shoots like a CZ, the Norinco 9mm version of the 1911, and the Norinco clones of the Sig are all good bets as they are cost effective, dependable and well made; they will depreciate less over time than their brand name counterparts. They run price wise from $340.00 - about $400.00. Not as smoothly finished as the name brands, but still quite good.

Glocks have gone down in price in Canada, you can now get the G19 Gen 4 Canada edition for just under $800. I'd recommend that, as who doesn't want the favourite gun of hickok45 :D !

Looking to buy your first handgun eh?

Buy a 38/357 revolver that you can afford. & Learn both single & double action shooting, as well trigger control. It will be much easier & more fun in the long run when you can hit stuff.

A 22 revolver is even better...
