Where to buy a clean Russian SKS that isn't absurdly overpriced?

I also bought a Grade 1 SKS from Tenda, late last year. Very good condition. All matching serial numbers. Lots of cosmoline but that is standard. Mineral spirits, a bundle of rags and a bit of patience took care of it. As nice as I would ever have imagined an unissued 67-year-old surplus Russian rifle could be. A beautiful, old, carbine for $399+tax!

WOW for 400$ price a Russ SKS will stay on EE unsold for years.

LOL . you made me laugh . maybe now but not in the future. I was at a gun show in the US many years ago and this American guy standing next to me picked up and sks and said many years from now in the future your going to be able to trade one of these for a pick up truck . I said ya sure.

In late 2017 (December?), Cabelas.ca had an online sale for SKS... $209 a piece. They were in an exceptionally good shape, I've seen 2 myself. I haven't heard of any BBQ paint abortions you seem to be referring to...

I missed a deer with all 5 rounds on a deer that stood broadside lo g enough for me to take 5 aimed shots with time to adjust the irons to assist the shot. It was the afternoon of the last day and I tried what was about 150m. I'm glad I missed completely rather than bad shorter him. The next year I had a scope, more practise and more accurate gun. The SKS stays at home.

Still that SKS does shoot well and I headed a grouse at 25m with it but we failed each other when it counted for deer. I have not seen a deer armed in season since.... that's why hunting is fun though cause moments like that last a lifetime and my hats of to that Stonewall Deer who handed me my new hunter butt.

I have from the Calgary store.........pitted ,bent parts and crude BBQ paint.

I've got two BBQ's. One from a sponsoring dealer on here that had advertised non-refurb. Buyer beware. Have 3 that I got before they started drying up. Two Russian beauties (one first-gen with the spike bayonet).

I have a blonde Norinco (?) Model also. Out of all of them, the thing is a tank. It's my camp gun. Loose and rattly and can hit hockey pucks at 100 yards. I just can't kill the damned thing.
