Diemaco SA Rifle Pics - post 'em here

Diemaco and Colt Canada clones of the select-fire service carbines that I carried in Afghanistan. First up is the Diemaco C8 with 14.5" pencil Barrel. My bolt-on mods were limited to a Redi-Mag dual mag holder and a shell dressing on the buttstock for ready access. This was in 2002, Canada's 1st deployment to Afghanistan, so early days and basic weapons. No Israeli bandages or Tourniquets. No weapon lights, no flat-top for optics. Old School:

Next is the Colt Canada C8 Flat-Top Heavy Barrel (FTHB) carbine with the 15.7" Barrel mounting the distinctive "Simon Sleeve". I carried this carbine duejng a year of pre-deployment training followed by a 6 month tour. My tour was cut short at the 3 1/2 month point by an IED that destroyed my service carbine - it stripped off all the furrniture and bent the Receiver Extension / Buffer Tube. My personal Trijicon 1-4x scope survived the blast but was damaged. Trijicon, after hearing my story, repaired the scope for free and here it is in the original Larue SPR mount which weathered the explosion unscratched. Personal mods included the (then brand new) Gen 1 Magpul Buttstock and magazines, the ERGO Grip, the Readi-Mag, GG&G BUIS, my Trijicon Scope and Larue Mount, a Knights Armament RIS (unit sourced), M3X Illuminator (unit sourced), PEQ 2A Infrared Laser Target Designator (represented by a LaserLyte Green Laser), and Tango Down Vertical Foregrip. This was circa 2008:

Saw those in another thread, but still nice. Both beautiful rifles in their own ways.

And Mr. Donut, I was doing my best to talk you out of an SAS upper, but I cannot lie... it may be my favorite AR. Probably a toss-up between it and my MR556

I'm gonna have to take some updated photos of my Colt Canada guns... EDITED ok, took some photos :) These are all full Colt Canada guns, with the exception of one of the stocks, a couple of the pistol grips, some of the charging handles, and of course the VFGs.

Colt Canada 15.7, Elcan SpecterDR

Colt Canada IUR, TA11 green chevron ACOG

Colt Canada MRR 11.5, TA11 red chevron ACOG. This is the gun I usually use for training. Until recently it was wearing another TA11 "red donut of death"

Colt Canada SAS 10.5, TA31 red crosshair ACOG

Colt Canada C8

Colt Canada SA20 "C7 clone", with Elcan OS4

Bought this upper directly from Colt USA. It was 1 of 10 contract over runs from the USMC trials in the early 2000's.
