on an Swiss arms 550 is the lower or upper the registered part?

Considering they are listed less than new and not 2x new price like the 858's, they are a bargin. If the swiss followed the same trend as the 858 - I could be convinced to sell mine for $7500. Haha

Hahah, I kept out of that whole debacle, I honestly don't know or care. It was years ago, I just saw that and thought it would be funny and relevant.

That show is at the stampede grounds right? I may end up heading that way tomorrow, will see what the morning brings.

The 550 and 540 are not the same otherwise the 540 would have been prohib along with the 550. And if thats the case, most 550 internal components wont be dimensionally the same, so really you would need at least a 540 complete upper. At which point one needs to ask: why not just buy a 540 and shoot that?

The upper reciever is the serialized part on both 540 and 550 rifles.
The 540 and 550 rifles are both sufficiently different from one another that only the pistol grip and charging handles are interchangeable
