Hey guys, school a guy on the differences of these two that might influence my decision. Now I know, the simple answer is to get both, and yes, one day maybe, but right now only one of these pre-orders is in the budget.

I'm looking for a fun NR back yard gun for around the farm, targets basically. The yard is about 400 yards deep. I have no plans of hunting with it other than the odd groundhog that pops ups while I walk out to the back shooting area. I don't plan on putting a ton of rounds down the barrel, I'm budget restricted but also my dads farm is pretty far away so I can only shoot periodically. I'm in the process of switching ranges and would be shooting it there as well, their longest range is 200 meters. What would you guys list as significant features of one vs another? I don't currently reload but it is in the future plans, when I get more time to run more rounds down it.

Some more info, I already have the following semis:
- ar15
- bcl102 (still to be delivered) - hoping this will cut it as a hunting rifle to accompany my bolt
- SP-01

As I said, I have up to 400 yards but I'm not really looking for that long of a shooter, right now more a fun kick around the farm gun. None of my family (4 brothers) have their PALs but they all drool when I show up with mine and crap themselves with pleasure when I give them a few rounds to play with. Help me spend my money!

I liked this review of the FX-9. Seems like an awesome choice for the money. Taking glock mags is such a big plus. Biggest downside is it might not be the most accurate PCC if LBS's review is to be believed.

I tried my non restricted CZ Scorpion out to 100 and makes much tighter groups than his if I use Federal 124, but it does have a pretty decent aftermarket Douglas barrel on it. That said, I bought the gun for 25-50 yard plinking and 9mm is great for that. Different experience than my 556 guns, and way different than my much lightened BCL-102 which has a solid punch to it.

My 2 cents, get the FX-9 since you already have an AR 15, as long as you're cool with it having limited range while remaining accurate.

Personally I would be going FX-9 mostly because 9mm is cheaper. Also it is quieter and less recoil. Not saying 223 is a shoulder breaker, but when I bring new people out to introduce them to shooting, most prefer my Thureon Defense 9mm Carbine to my AR15.

Another consideration is the Ruger PC9 when we get the non-restricted version. Although it is not a traditional fudd type rifle, it is much less aggressive looking than my TD or the FX9. Being take-down also allows allot more transport options, and even inside my dry bags for paddle/portage trips.

Thanks guys, I think I agree, I think that right now the fx-9 will better suit what I'm looking for especially as I already have the ar15. Good recommendation on the PC9, however, I have a bunch of ar parts lying around so I liked that a lot of the fx-9 can use the furniture I already have.

As for pre-ordering....if it sits in the joint account there is a good chance it instead turns into a jacket or shoes for the lady :p

So how big are the batches that will be coming in? Hundred at a time or can we expect to see most pre-orders filled first batch then see them on retailers shelves shortly after that?
I don't do pre-order so am trying to figure out how long it will be till they are in stock somewhere and I can throw my credit card at someone.

Is it a KCI (Korean) glock copy magazine or actual Glock mag? So far I've never had a problem with the knock-off mags but I have heard of some guys not having good luck with them.

Milspec or commercial buffer tube?

My 9mm AR is one of my favorite rifles but it doesn't get used much because of the restricted status, this looks like a NR version of it so I really don't see that I have any other choice but to buy one :p

It might surprize you but I do not like pre-orders, but we are forced to do it as it has become normal for the industry, but we do not do pre orders as "go fund me" schemes, we do them to gauge the market. We had placed an initial order for 500 units before we even announced the FX-9, we have already exceeded this figuar so we are in the process of re-ordering. Pre sales and back orders cost us money, we would much rather have the inventory in stock. We also have to juggle with factory delivery times and fluctuating exchange rates and then the Government and RCMP are a wild card we have to contend with, not to mention back door imports!

Our sample came with a genuine Glock mag, one 10 rd mag.

We have had mixed results with the KCI mags, we are sold out of KCI 9 mm mags and as we got badly burnt by KCI ( failed to honour their warranty promises) we have no plans of reordering their mags.

Iwill check the buffer tube next week.
