Typically hunting and PRS have very different zoom range requirements... IMO 6X is a lot of zoom to hunt with unless you are hunting at 250+ yards, and even when I've done the odd competition, I don't tend to make it to 24X until I am out at 500 yards, but the vortex PST is a great bang for the buck piece of glass (I prefer it over the HST as it is FFP). If you don't get down behind better glass, I'd wager you'll be very happy with it to the point where you'd recommend it to your friends, and chide those that buy better/fancier glass. I don't want to sound like I am knocking it, because it is what I'd recommend you get..... You can spend twice as much, and you WILL get a better scope, but will it be twice as good? How do you quantify it?Vortex viper HST 6-24x50 Whats your opinion on this?
Off the top of my head....Can you guys tell me difference between pst and hst ?
I have the same in 6.5-20x56i like this one Nightforce SHV 4-14x50 .250 MoA MOAR -C556
FFp
Sfp?
Im new to thiscan you explain
If we are throwing that out there, I'll recommend a barrett MRAD, I ####ing LOVE mine. If for some reason you can't hit your prey, you can certainly club it to death.... lolBuy once cry once! Buy a rifle purpose build for the job, and reputation behind it. Avoid the headaches of building or custom rifles!! Save a little longer and go with an AIAX.308 or MC if that's to pricey try a TRG 22, you could get a TRG and slick optic for 5K. I recently considered both rifles and they are very comparable, both seeing service in current armed forces around the world and as accurate as they come. I opted for the AX308, the quick change barrel and mag well design did it for me plus I believe the AX is lighter than the TRG.
Cheers!
