"Person shaped" Silhouette targets - Illegal?

These were L.E. targets that were being used in the U.S. It caused a bit of an uproar when the word got out about them.

My new range once again proved to be a good choice, in this regard. The only bans are pictures of real people, celebrities and politicians, and explosive targets (and that one is cause it's an indoor range). While things like the picture below are all fair game.

I actually laughed out loud. Not that I give a ####; shooting a picture of someone is not equivalent to shooting someone, but why?? The pregnant chick, the kid, and the grandma in her housecoat had me ####ing rolling.

For police training. You react to the threat, not who is holding the gun.

Yes, all those "human" targets above look like they are specially designed for police, military, body guards, security people...and, of course, as tools of self-defense. I was referring to teaching kids at the range about the basics of gun handling. When I was a kid learning to shoot, we lived in the rural woods and had a gravel pit in the backyard that was our "range". Dad would tell me to go make some targets and we'd do a little shooting in the pit. Never heard tell of store-bought targets in those days. Just cut some cereal boxes and draw on some of the old fashioned "bulls-eye" circles. If I would have shown up in the gravel pit with a drawing of a human, dog, or cat....I probably would never have laid my hands on one of dad's guns again! I know, that was the old days, this is now. Times have changed. Thinking has changed. Kids have changed....and targets have changed, too....

Aside from it bleeding on the floor, I couldn't really see them objecting to it... they'd probably laugh at you in private though.

The only real hard and fast rules of the place are be safe and don't destroy the range. If you can control your firearm while mag-dumping, then you're free to it as rapidly as you want. While if you somehow ND a .308 bolt action into the ceiling, TWICE, then you'll be asked to leave (true story).

Any CGN sponsor carry these?
They would be a hit a my local club.

Apologies for the late reply, but I haven't seen these for sale anywhere, I just print them off on letter size.

Though I got some dirty looks from some liberals I work with when I left a pile of them on the printer.

Never any truer words spoken, lots of people must be fantasizing about killing people, why else shoot at people targets.

Seriously?
The Liberals should just wait another few years, and thru an atmosphere of political correctness and sensitivity training at ranges, we will disarm ourselves voluntarily because we feel self conscious about the violent nature of our sport!
At first I thought this was a post left over from April Fools Day!
How about we just say that as part of Firearm Safety, we are practicing to NOT hit the human targets, but we keep missing!

This has nothing to do with Liberals or any other kind of political correctness...it has to with responsible parents wanting to teach their kids about gun safety and handling....and somehow, explaining the use of shooting at human targets to a child who is just breaking ground with guns doesn't seem like the best choice of a target! I could care less what any adult chooses to shoot at as their choice of targets at the range but for kids, no. As for firearm safety, when my kids took the course years ago the instructor told the whole class that he would give them a little slack on some of the topics but the one thing he would fail them instantly on is if anybody pointed the gun at another person...What if that same instructor were taking the kids to the range to actually learn to shoot the guns after he got done teaching them to handle them. Is human shaped targets the best choice for him to use...do you think

That you should think you have difficulty teaching a child the difference between a target and a human when dealing with firearms strongly suggests you should not have anything to do with either.

If the child does not have the capacity to understand the difference there is no business involving them with firearms. Too early.

Where does this come from?

This is simply more of that 'too stupid for Darwin' ism', coddle - swaddle, and snowflakeology that the left pushes to be accepted.

Simple Twaddle. Ah think of the children. Nobody else should do something because 'a child might see'........

Kids learn already more from TV than at the range. If the parents have not provided adequate guidance by then the problem is not with what other adults use as targets. :)

As a girl, Carla Homolka (the Canadian killer) started out by mutilating and torturing her dolls and teddy bears. Yes, they were just toys and I am sure she damn well knew the difference between a real person and a doll! But it's OK to kill a doll. But its not OK to kill a real person....Do you think Carla got her messages mixed up?
