How rare are these pistols in Canada? I've been looking for an Elite I and cannot seem to find them coming up used on the EE. I recently acquired an Elite II and want the original. Does anyone have any of the pistols from the Elite line?

Take a good look at the Wilson Combat Beretta. It's superb.

Have one, got it thanks to Wanstalls. Arguably the elite is 70% as good for less than half the cost.

The reason why they discontinued the elite is mind boggling, but I guess WC and Beretta can make more money with normal brigadiers and the WC version.

I can see why they may figure ' it's not necessary ' but clearly there is a market for it, so I wonder why they don't, other than to enable the high end aftermarket.

There has been a petition for it to come back, but I am assuming that the target market for the elite, which was LE, probably went to glocks and other polymer guns. The audience dried up and so the M9 contacts for the army took center stage until Wilson came along.

The Elite guns were never marketed to the LE market, it was a straight up competition gun, designed by Ernest Langdon. Beretta screwed the pooch on them though, and they did have some issues as well, no one ever came out and said exactly what caused it, but lots of us broke frame after frame after frame with the IIs, I'm assuming Ernie's new collaboration with the pizza guys has addressed those issues though. Hope to have him back up here next year so I can play with one of his personal guns again.

Both calibre's .40 and 9? .40 would make sense, but the 9 that I have barely looks like it's got any wear on the frame, let alone the unnecessarily big brig slide for the caliber.

I'm enjoying shooting my II, it's super soft and very nice to maneuver with. I threw some wrap hogues on there and it's just nirvana since.

I find very little difference between my Elite 1A and my M9A3 and with a spring change, a little polish and a Cyl&Slide sear I didnt see much difference in the triggers between my 96 inox vertec and the trigger in the wilson combat model either, well other than the $$$ difference.

Slavex keep me advised if you decide to bring Earnest up please. I may chase down one of his new guns latter this year. Presently shooting my PPQ until the new shoulder settles down.

Take Care

Bob
