What will Brownells send across the border?

I use priority - and yes, I hate their options (like Truck/Boat or whatever other things they have with no explanation). I've also never seen the shipping price until after I've placed the order, but they seem to be reasonable. For all orders I've placed with them they ship via UPS Innovations, which means UPS ships the parcel in the US then changes to Postal Service when it hits the border, so the crazy fees you get from UPS/FedEx on cross-border trades are done away with.. or at least that has been my experience so far. That being said, odds are you'll still be paying the duty fees.

Parcel Post Priority Mail International

I just bought from them yesterday and used this method. I called the international phone number from contact us and spoke with a woman while doing the transaction online. She said either $16 or $32 max for shipping depending on the size/weight of my package.
 
What about shipping to US post box or a friend in the states? If you're driving it across the border, it's the same as buying from a box store, and Buffalo Gun Center has never given me an export permit.

Transporting ITAR parts across the border without paperwork is highly illegal. I feel like it is a very small portion of culprits get caught, but if you do, do not drop the soap.

I have brought back over orders that would not have triggered (ha!) the export paperwork (i.e., the problematic parts were worth less than $100) but I suspect Brownells is not in a position to do that paperwork and then ship the parts someplace to have you then take them across the border.

Their shipping is reasonable in my experience, considering it is crossing a border. It's not terribly fast, so I save up and try to avoid impulse purchases...
 
Also check the coupon code websites for Brownells. Typically you can save $10 if you spend $99.99 or more, though I don't believe any of the "free shipping" promos work for Canadians.

You're confusing 'registration' with 'licensing'.

Brownells is a registered exporter. For a firearm or firearms part to be exportable, the manufacturer must be a registered manufacturer and the exporter must be a registered exporter. In some cases, the registered exporter may export with (only) an online declaration. Depending upon the part(s), and the total wholesale value of a particular order, a particular export may require an export license. If your order requires an export license, the registered exporter must also assess an extra fee, just to cover their costs.

One thing to be aware of... USPS or International Priority will transfer the package at the border to Canada Post. There are scum bags working for these companies that will, on occasion, grip your goods! Not saying it happens a lot but it does happen. The issue I ran into when we lost $1000 worth of flashlights was that Canada Post blamed USPS and vice versa... we were out $1k!

If you ship UPS/Fedex, they control your goods 100% of the way to the post office and they back up your goods with proper insurance. So, decide what your package is worth to you when paying for shipping
 
Problem with UPS and Fedex is they charge you an extremely high and completely made-up fee to cross the border with your packages. I've been asked to pay over twice the value of items I received with them in the past.

I once ordered a $175 jacket and was extorted to pay $200 worth of UPS fees.
 
I order all my parts from Brownells to build entire ARs , AR10s minus Barrel and stripped receiver set.

Barrels I get from Fulton Armory and use @#### to import.

i ordered some 1911 recoil springs and an ed brown extractor from brownells, after i gave card and shipping info, it said i need an ffl number, so i gave up and emailed them to cancel the order. 2 days later they sent an automated reply that they received my email. A day after that another email came and said "your order has shipped" 8 days later it showed to my mailbox. Value was only about $55 cdn with shipping. ymmv
