Best MATCH ammo with 10/22

Hey guys ,

Was wondering what exact type of MATCH ammo was working best in your 10/22. I know that one riffle could work better with one or another company or type of ammo but would like to know you guys experience with it.

Depends if you want it to cycle the action or cycle it yourself...

I'm assuming that you want it to cycle so I'd start with the cheap federal 'auto match' stuff and then work up to Eley Match 'semi auto'
 
Lapua super club. It’s called something else now. I shoot it out of a k10/22T stock barrel. I was planning on changing the barrel but this combo shoots well so I left it alone.
 
I went the SK route. SK plus or pistol. They run about 1045fps so they should easily cycle the action, it’s the CCi quiets that run about 800fps that are a problem.

I'd say don't even bother with the Federal auto match stuff because you will get fte's.
Was out today and had a problem with practically every mag. Seems to be very inconsistent.
ok in a bolt I suppose.

FTE? I can't even get them to load into the chamber in my SR, they jam up every single time.....
 
I was out last week with my Shultz & Larsen fitted with a Hawke/ Anchutz 12x scope and was VERY surprised to find that CCI Standard Velocity ammo outshot SK Rifle Match by a large degree at 100M. I also had some Federal Auto Match on hand and found that it was all over the place.
Having said that, I normally shoot the SK ammo at Smallbore matches and have had clean (100 pt) targets with it, but the average is 97.
I'll be trying the CCI stuff for matches come the fall!

I shoot CCI standard in a Thompson Center R55 benchmark semi auto. I’ve had 5 rounds at 100 yards give me 1” groups providing there is no wind. Shooting shot gun husks at 100 off the berm is easy. But for in closer the Lapua works well in my Walther rifles and the Ruger 10/22.
 
For match grade accuracy (single ragged holes at 50 yards) out of my stock 10/22 target model, eley force was the pinch hitter. Shot after shot through the same hole. It's magical.
 
Not knowing which 10/22 every one is something onto itself.
Mine produces 2" groups at 100 yards with CCI MiniMags RN and 6+ with HP's.

So what have you tried so far? Which model do you have? Can you afford $25 per box for Lapua X-Act? What sights are you using? What range will you be shooting at?

Show some results as there is nothing to be gained via "Internet Accuracy". One holer's are for privacy but this one is for politicians and the rest of us . . .

 
I have a bone stock 1022 with slim tapered barrel. Eley Club shoots regularly 0.75"- 1" 5-shot groups at 50m in this rifle with the odd 0.5" group. I don't expect the same accuracy as my Anschutz and I'm quite pleased with the accuracy as it is. CCI Blazers shoot around 1" at 50m. This is using a bipod and rear bag and a scope set to 5X.
