What Was Your First Handgun and Do You Still Have It?

Not only my first handgun, but also my very first firearm! Right after I got my RPAL in late 2016, I bought a Polish-made Tokarev that I was eyeing while waiting for my application to clear. I'll never get rid of it as I love collecting not only Soviet firearms, but also those made in my home country.

Years ago, my first handgun was a beautiful Browning Hi-Power. But I got out of guns completely for some time and sold everything to fund my new passion (drag racing).
After I dropped the racing bug and came back to guns my next first pistol was a Ruger P85. Sold that as quick as I could and don’t miss that one a bit.

You’ve posted this pic many times and I never get tired of looking at that BHP. I think the commander hammer just makes the gun complete! I’m awaiting a Mk.3 Practical two tone with the same hammer. Hopefully it arrives this coming week!

You're right, its still one of my best pics of the BHP (got lucky:)).
Here's a couple of different angles....

I've since removed the backstrap. Was a bit too rough for my liking and added too much girth....

Ruger Single Six but owed my Pops some cash and he took it in forfeit and promptly sold it on me to teach myself a lesson me thinks..... I still think of replacing after all these years once and a while but can't bring myself to go there.

My old P85 I got shortly after the Single Six fiasco, my second pistol and tho it is clunky as hell, it's built like a tank and surprisingly accurate...

First handgun was a Series 70 Colt 1911 in .45acp that needed some TLC. Not only do I still have it, I was shooting it earlier today. A little love and it runs like a champ now.

S&W 422 bought new in 1990 for $199 Still have it and a pile of spare mags. This little pistol still running strong.
Best thing about it now is that my kids are enjoying it.

Mine was a Colt New Frontier 22lr/22mag convertible.
Lots of fun and a great little gun to learn on. No memory of where it went for sale or trade??
Would be nice to still have that one and the Mod.17 K22 Masterpiece that was my second. Oh well..

'59 Colt Buntline Scout .22lr with a 9.5" Barrel. According to the phone call I had with Colt it's the first year they made this model of Buntline. Also got my Smith and Wesson Model 17 K22 at the same time. Still have both!

First semi was a walther P1. Beautiful little pistol but so brutally inaccurate it wasn’t pointless keeping. First revolver was a SW victory model that was supposed to be 38spl but ended up being 38sw. Sent back to seller for refund.

Colt Police Positive in 32 S&W long, which I selected out of 3 crates of Surplus guns.
Gun is long gone, but it gave me 12/6.
