Good luck with the hunt. I'm heading to South Australia in August for a fallow/ red population control hunt. If it's anything like last year I'll be wishing for some of that warm dry weather. Not into rain much.

very warm conditions up in the 30s C an not much of a cool evenings down to around 10 C so the rut is only going very slow at the moment an the bucks are mostly vocal at night an shutting up soon after day light, so it makes getting in on them pretty hard with such crunchy ground , the bucks we have got into so far have only been young.
a lot of hunters out on public land so we are moving onto private after tomoorow.

toward end of the week looks better weather wise, fingers crossed.
toting the Ruger 303 every hunt so far... not much luck ha ha

mate we don't eat the bucks in the Rut, its not a Law or rule that we have to do anything with the Buck once harvested, same goes for any of our deer in Aus. yet we all try make the effort to retreieve meat on other animals, we aim at shooting the Hinds or Does for our meat, an of course spikers or young bucks outside of the rut.

RE getting some blood on the 303, well I have had some oppertunitys to do so this past week but I'm not after a Young buck and I didn't want to spoil any areas by harvesting a Doe.
I've got a bunch of these 215s loaded up and we have just had our first good rain for 3 weeks, with a wet weekend ahead it looks as though it wont be long until I'm getting stuck right into those Sambar, which ill be rolling a few straight up with this bullet for some videos.
