The JR Carbine Thread

^^^^ my guess is that since he had to use the rifle length buffer tube for the A2 stock, he had to put a spacer inside the tube so that the stock buffer and spring could still be used? That's what I did on my Thureon Defence when I installed an A2 stock. Worked mint.

By the way, nice looking JR Carbine ya got there CX. The A2 stock and new handguard do a good job of taking the JR's ugly away.

I'm sure your comment would be more appreciated in the thureon defense sticky thread....oh wait.....there isn't one

Finally joined the group. Ended up going Nickle and man I love it. 9mm. OEM glock 27 mag. Facog.

So..... not evil.

Are the new JR carbines shipping with the 13" keymod handguard? I went to a local gun store and they had one in stock, The sales guy said all of the new ones were shipping like that. Just wanted to see if anyone else could confirm this as I'm still waiting for my carbine to come in and now I'm wondering if mine will have the new rail or not.

Love my JR carbine, shoots very accurate and is reliable. The only (somewhat) negative thing is no last round bolt hold open.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with using steel cased ammo? It does say in the book provided not to use steel or aluminum cased.

There's no reason it wouldn't work.....
...however....I wouldn't feed it a constant supply, some guns are designed with firing this stuff in mind but the metal (steel) cases would probably subject some parts on the JRCar to premature wear....not to mention voiding any warranty we may be lucky to have here.
I suspect you would get a similar response from the designer/manufacturer.
My $0.02
Play safe

Got most of my parts in and together! Im very happy with everything so far. Just need to pick up either a Vortex crossfire or Holosun red dot and I can go shoot this thing!

I have a feeling they dont like the steel cased ammo because when its ejected its going to eventually damage the receiver. I mean, even the brass eventually wears it.

So, I have over 1000 rounds through my JR, cleaned it once at about the 250 round mark. Had one fail to eject on a box of 50 147 grain Federal I tried out. 1000 rounds of 115 grain without a hickup. Man I love this thing.
