The JR Carbine Thread

Its a fake suppressor just for looks from True North Arms. Its the reverse one so it slips over the barrel basically making longer barrels look like their 5.5" shorter and have a can on the end.

Thanks for the reply. This looks awesome. My JRC is on the way.. going to order a handguard and shroud for sure. Is there any extra gas blow back because of it??

Ya the handguards and fake suppressor are great quality. The handguard even has a built in qd attachment point. Make sure you get one of the "easy install ones" if youre ordering from true north arms. Makes install a breeze. Mine is a 12" for reference. A longer one will fit over the fake suppressor if you were after that look. The barrel is practically at the end of the fake supressor so it doesnt change the muzzle flash at all.

Good to know! I'll definitely be going as long as I can for the handguard. either 15 inch or 17 if I can find one. Makes the gun look WAY better.
Should be in tomorrow I hope. The weather is finally looking better for this weekend and we should lose some snow. I'd like to get it sighted and shoot a ton of rounds!

I purchased a JRC over winter and updated it it with flash hider, handguard and butt stock from site sponsors. I took it for a spin today and was impressed by the performance.
Used 3 kind of Magazines: Glock, PMAG and ETS no issues what so ever. Used reloads, Barnaul, commercial and Blazer Aluminum ammo, not one problem. I was shooting from bench at 50 yards with a Bushnell red dot (nothing fancy) I got 1.5 inch groups. This gun shots better than I do. If you are wondering if they are worth the money, I'll say mine was.

Looks great sheep100. I still need more mags and a vortex crossfire then I can test out some different ammo. I'm excited to take it up north camping with me.

Hey guys, JR noobie here.

Do these come with a threaded/breaked barrel (asking for aesthetics only) and do they easily take AR style handguards?

Has anyone had trouble with the ejector plate screws backing out while taking the gun out? I have loctite on the charging handle already but that was recommended by the manufacturer.

Got my JRC in 9mm a few weeks ago and started off with throwing a red dot on it.
Sighted it in and shot 300 rounds in 2 weekends. Super happy so far.. Other than the ugly handguard.

First day I got it!

New handguard and some MBUS pros today.

I was hoping to get a one in 45 but the 9mm ones seem way more common. Anyone that's had both prefer one over the other? I'm not worried about ammo cost as I reload.

Thanks
Clint

I've heard of issues with the .45. I had one in .40 that didn't work out of the box. After months of waiting for a replacement I took a 9mm. That one works great.

I picked a 45 cal up off EE and so far has had only one failure to chamber ( mag problem) . Have run steel case with out problems . Great gun so far ( the only gremlins that has poped up is the charging handle get lose , going to lock tight it .) Not the easiest thing to clean , have only run a bore snake and oiled it so far 150 rounds about . Rapid fire for the most .

How do you guys screw in new muzzle brake with your JRC barrel? Unlike ARs I cannot use a bev block so do you guys just clamp down the barrel? I have a hard time securing it...

I have the True North Arms mock suppressor on mine and I just put the crush washer on first then hand tightened. Has been fine ever since.

Anyone using Korean made 33 rnd glock mags on their 9mm JR? They are the only mags I have for mine and my JR constantly mangles live rounds in a stove pipe fashion between the bolt face and chamber upright . But if I only 5 rounds it's ok.
