Bcl102 failure to feed and apparent undergassing issue.

How much is that fix? And from where?

Bronwells, 100USD for the buffer 20USD for the spring, 120USD was a small price to pay for me to get a working rifle without having to send it back to BCL.
Both are made by Heavy Buffers
Buffer: CAR-10 308 CARBINE BUFFER item number 100007353
Spring: MODIFIED 308AR BUFFER SPRING item number 100007354
You also need to know the ammo your rifle likes. Mine loves norinco and federal xm95, other ammos not so much.

Yep and half the price of a MH which also doesn't have a really good track record on quality.

Picking an NEA product, quality wise over ATRS.... For those who are looking for a particular rifle style because they like it the BCL makes sense. Like hunting with a Garand, because you can. As far as cost, the other thread suggests rebuilding (barrel,BCG, etc) your 102 for accuracy. Not an $1800 rifle then, huh?

There have been a few instances where guys have had problems with MH rifles, but no where near the amount of #####ing I see on NEA/BCL stuff.
AND if you do have a problem the guys at ATRS are always there to help. No chasing or being ignored as it seems NEA/BCL to favor.

For the record I have both a MH and MV as well as a BCL102. The overall quality of the ATRS guns is lightyears better than the BCL. It would seem I got lucky with my BCL, most of the time it actually does work, but accuracy is poor at best so far.

I own neither rifle, nor do I care to own either. So as a non-biased person, I'd point out that BCL has sold orderof magnitude more ar-tpe rifles than the $4K+ MHs from ATRS.

Just by raw numbers, I would expect far far more complaints, #####ing an issues from the rifle that everyone has, than from the rifle almost nobody has.

I have a modern varminter and it is nice. I think it is overpriced but it came out prior to all the new options.

I have a bcl 102 and have had no issues with it but did replace certain parts to my preference costing probably about an extra 1000 but the only functional thing that had to be done was reshaping the trigger guard due to it interfering with the magwell and cost me nothing but 5 mins of my time.

I had a modern hunter and it cost almost double my upgraded bcl. Was beyond unreliable and was just as accurate when it did manage to fire off enough rounds in a row to make a group. I agree the percentage of people that had trouble with their modern hunters vs bcl is likely higher. Look at Jerry's accuracy testing thread and you can draw your own conclusions.
