BCL102 Mod it or sell it?

Just installed a Shillen 308 barrel on mine with a JP bcg but have not had a chance to take it out yet. Hopefully the next week or two but I have high expectations s! Have a buddy we are putting a Shillen 65 creedmoor on that will be testing at the same time. I say rebarrel it and see what it can do.

Very interested to see how this turns out.

I have had great results with Shillen barres in the past.

I guess the problem is I had unrealistic expectations after seeing NEA claims that it was 1 MOA capable a year or so again, that and I have a 14.5” NEA 15 that is consistently sub MOA in 223 Wylde with my reloads and easily MOA with cheap PMC. I have also been spoiled in that I have two bolt guns that shoot 1/2” or less all day long.

Appreciate the insight.

I've got the same decision to make. I pre-ordered mine for a moose hunt that now has fallen through. Without another hunt in the books for a few years I now need to decide what to do worth mine when it arrives. I won't even have the chance to shoot it for 3 months so I'm thinking I may have to just cut my losses and sell it.

Why not sell everything except the receivers? That would cut your looses, and you'd also retain the base for building it as you want it to be.

International barrel is going to be making BCL102 barrels in the near future.

Ryan

Ryan any idea on the specs for this barrel? Material/chrome lined/contour/fluted/rifling/chamber (match or MOBG)/threaded?

Do they work with the gen 1 BCG?

Cost?

I have more accurate guns for bench shooting. After I lightened my 102 up with an SLR hand guard I find that it’s just not gonna be a tack driver with the stock barrel so I’ve been practicing with it in shooting positions where I can’t outshoot it.

Now that it’s lighter it is way more fun to shoot off hand. I’d like to rebarrel with a quality barrel that’s as light or lighter than stock, with improved accuracy of course.

Depends what you want the gun for? If you wanna shoot lots at long range get a quality HB and have it.

Post that pic of yours again. Love that gun!

Also, have you tested it for accuracy yet?

I have a gen2. I modded mine slightly: m472 brake, wilson trigger, mid west handguard, bcm pistol grip, bcm stock, buffer and spring.
The rest i.e. barrel, bcg I'll wait till I shoot out the barrel on this one first.

I love it now, even more than my ar15s, with the ta33 love hitting that gong at 100 yards offhand with some 308, nothing feels better than that power.

My g2 is next, shell be getting a m472 as well, that brake turns a 308 into a 223

Anytime you want to try it on a Friday at abbie let me know a couple of weeks in advance and I'll let you have some fun

I may just take you up on meeting up in Abby. This is my first rifle in an ar platform, so if you wouldn’t mind looking my rifle over and making suggestions would be much appreciated.

I also modded my BCL102 before I even shot it, another member bought all the new parts form the BCL, I changed barrel, bolt, BCG, gas block and tube, trigger, grip, butt stock and handguard. The rifle works flawlessly, and with the X-Caliber barrel it shots fantastic. If you don't mind spending the money, you can build the rifle it should have been right out of the factory

I haven't gotten back to the range with my Gen 2 for a bit, but it really has shown promise. None of the problems that seem to have been plaguing some of the guns here. I did put a CmC trigger on it and an Armalite AR10 fore end as well. The fore end did need a bit of cutting to fit, but at $200.00ish from Wolverine Supplies, what the hell.
