I ordered a slr 13.5” helix at th beginning of March. Finally got through to them today and they said that it was seized by customs or something (thanks for letting me know 🙄) and they can’t ship to Canada right now. Nice of them to let me stew for almost two months.
Anyways I am looking for a lightweight handguard for my bcl that I can get here in Canada or have shipped here.
What are the rest of you using? Where did you order from?

Nope they have had it at inspection since March 8... slr just issued me a full refund. So waiting a few more days won’t help lol. They said for some reason they are having issues sending stuff to Canada now. They are working on it but no fix in sight for the foreseeable future.
Could I purchase it and bring it across the border myself or are they ITAR restricted?

Um, if they are ITAR, then 'no'. But, I bought mine, didnt sign any export document(s) and it made it thru.

But again, it's not CBSA the problem for ITAR items, it's exporting them out of the USA.

Oh ok so I shouldn’t have an issue picking up at my address in the states and bringing it across as I only have to deal with Canada customs. Wonder why it’s a shipping issue for them as a company.
Although Midwest industries is half the price. So not sure I’ll buy slr again.

As per CGN rules, we can't condone the practice of bringing possible ITAR items across yourself ;)

I didn't have an issue with getting mine either, it was a bit of a wait but then again, Bill C-71 was just stars in JT's eyes at the time...

I'd wager that ANYTHING labelled as "gun parts" is deemed "unhealthy, bad, illegal, nasty, right-wing, baby-killer" and quarantined now... because they can, and F.U. if you object.

Doubt SLR is responsible for the issues, they've been sending parts up here for years and CBSA is the one holding your package. I've had 2 SLR rails, a muzzle brake, adjustable gas blocks shipped direct from them without issue. All those items are allowed across with the ITAR small parts exemption.

So many American manufacturer's won't bother sending their stuff up here because the ITAR license is expensive, and then customers packages get intercepted and held. Apparently Odinworks won't bother anymore either?

That said, SLR rails are expensive but some of the nicest on the market. Super quality machining, ultra-light and the best mounting system I've used. You can get them through ##### Armory (guess their name isn't allowed here, do a google search SLR Rifleworks Canada and you will find them a few results down) and a few other Canadian distributors.

How long ago did you order it?

I had ordered a handguard and gas block from them in February and I haven’t received them, last note on my tracking number states awaiting clearence from customs...
