That's good to hear, True North can you confirm details of the revision and approximate current angle of deflection?

hi benwilliam

I asked MDI and got this reply:

We have found ejection to be anywhere from two to four o'clock depending on how well set up the rifle was. The brass deflector that was on the prototype worked just fine for left handed shooters ejecting the shells at a 90 degree angle comfortably keeping them out of the shooters face and shirt. We have videos on our Instagram of this happening with a left handed shooter. The update exaggerates the already working system and was beefed up to accommodate other calibers ejection.

I hope that helps, let me know if you need more info

I checked with Maccabee again, they say they are on track to start shipping in May.

my gut feel is there might be another couple week delay and then it'll be a ship show (i.e. shipping receivers like mad) throughout late may and june

I rather wait for a quality product than rush for a half baked idea. Also since I just sold couple of safe queens, It’s time to get the parts ready for my 2nd SLR upper

Maccabee kindly sent us one of their prototype receivers.

First, some photos. I'll repeat this is a prototype, the version that ships will differ slightly. Just posting these to give everyone how she looks from different angles.

Early next week I'll test fit a bunch of aftermarket parts from the warehouse and publish what we find. feel free to post requests for test fittings (obv we can only do stuff that we have in stock, for now)

Quick question, How well does the upper and lower fit together? Is it a nice snug fit or does it have a little rattle to it? Just curious.

it slides on smoothly but with little or no 'play'. when you tighten down the screw it feels pretty solid.

you can see the screw in these pics:

looking up from below (magwell is on the right) you can see the takedown screw head. The littler screw retains the big guy.

at left you can see the protrusion from the Upper that goes into a pocket on the Lower:
