What are your thoughts on both of these non-restricted rifles in 9mm? I wanna get one and I'm leaning towards the Beretta despite the price tag

I just sold a beretta but not for lack of living it. It ate whatever I fed it just plain worked. I would not hesitate to own another. I cannot speak to the Kel-Tec as I have never handled one but A they are ugly and B they look damn fun.

If price were not an issue, CX4 Storm for me. Decent sight picture, much easier to rack charging handle, has a bolt release and last shot hold open
The only thing the Sub 2k has over the Storm is it's a bit lighter, and the ability to fold. But if you mount a red dot on it, you lose the ability to fold it (unless you use an offset mount)

I wouldn’t recommend the Sub 2K. I have had 2 and neither one of them were reliable. Also terrible ergonomics to the point that they are unpleasant to shoot.

I don't have first hand experience with the Beretta, but I've heard they have spongy trigger feel issues that are expensive to fix by third party.
The S2K Gen 2 I own started off with a similar trigger issue. I likened it to a "pressure washer" clackiness that I found disconcerting to say the least.
Parts from M*Carbo have made all the difference, and it is now a truly delightful carbine with a crisp 4.5 lb trigger pull. Just love it now!

I bought a CX4 NR 9mm from Reliable Gun about a month ago on sale for $1,089.00 plus tax. I mounted a vortex venom on it which co witnesses perfect with the iron sights (which flip down out of the way as well). I used it at my clubs indoor range twice now shooting 250 rounds of CCI. By design the tigger is heavy/mushy/spongy. Great compact light home defense gun. I mounted a Fenix strobe flashlight with QD Fenix mount on the left pic rail. Love the rifle. Would buy it again.

I have a Red Dot with a QD lever and it returns to zero every time on my S2K. Not an issue. (Holosun 515C)

My S2K is brutally "soviet" reliable. I run 147g exclusively, and clean it after each use. With the red dot and M*Carbo's rubber sleeve, I find the ergonomics delightful.

The Cx4 is a better shooter, the Sub2000 gen 2 (the gen 1 is garbage) is more of a backpacker gun... I have direct experience with both. Both work excellent, but the SUB feels like ur shooting some kind of WWI SUB machine gun; youll put it down after 5 mags and pick up the CX4 for the rest of the day lol.

Ive ultimately settled on a JR Carbine. It's been nothing short of exceptional! But I am eyeballing the new FX9's... They seem to have a promising future.

Sub2k gen2. Mine is stock and I've put a couple thousand through it so far no failures what so ever. Gonna eventually get some mcarbo parts but even stock it's one of those guns when you get it you'll understand

If you can look pass the trigger the CX4 is a great gun. I got used to it.
I am waiting for the Raven 9 and FX9 to become available to add an other PCC to my collection.

I own both and appreciate each for what they are.

If you can try out both, I will say the cx4 is feels better to shoulder and shoot

The concept of the Sub 2k is pretty much unbeatable, but its execution is lacking unfortunately. If you want to keep it in your truck folded under the seat it's perfect for that but if you want to shoot for any reasonable period the CX4 is far more of a shooter. I've had 2 of each and currently only have the latter. But I'm always on the lookout for a cheap S2k to keep under the seat.

i have a Sub 2k in 9mm with all the Mcarbo upgrades and it is a wicked little toy. I threw on a Vortex sparc 2 red dot and QD mount so i can still fold it up. if i had to pick between sub2000 and cx4 im going with my sub all day long.

CX4 is a great gun, reliable, accurate and super fun to shoot. Check out Sierra Papa for some upgrades including the trigger but as mention earlier in the thread they are a bit pricey, worth it though.

I vote for the S2K. I bought mine and put a few hundred through it then installed every option M*carbo had (2 months before they came out with the metal feed ramp) and I have a cheap red dot on a QD mount on top. It is a joy to shoot one of my favourites for sure. It does not matter if I am going camping, fishing, hiking, to the range or just a fire at the river my S2K comes with me. Folds up and fits into so many different style of bags that you can take it in and out of the truck without the hippie neighbours giving you the stink eye. And you can buy the rifle, upgrades and optic for the same price or less then the storm. I have not shot a storm but I have handled one and it is comfortable in the hand and seems to be a quality piece, but I just dont like the the look of them they look like a futur space weapon or something. Both fill a different roll in the PCC family and you should try to shoot both before making a decision but the S2K takes it for me.

S2K, just because you can take it with you anywhere and it isn't conspicuous. In a backpack, you can have it and 1000 rounds and no one would bat an eye.

I love my CX4 easy to take down , clean , accurate out of the box just a blast to shoot

I have the CX - 4 with Sierra Papa trigger and red dot and very happy with it. One of the comments I've heard ( and I quite agree with) is that you should never let your girlfriend use it. She won't give it back. Very accurate and easy to shoot and will reliably and accurately shoot anything I've put thru it. Really easy to clean as well, when I'm back from the range.

Get the Beretta.

sub2k gen2 are okay. Theyre fune. Theyre dirty. Theyre not comfortable to shoot. The entire gun is only rated to last 6000 rounds. Not the barrel. The firearm itself.
