Good day all.

Does anyone know where I can find a 0 MOA rail for a Ruger Precision Rifle here in Canada? I have had no luck in my search.

Thanks

I don't have anywhere to shoot at long distances right now. So yes I am looking for a 0 MOA rail so my scope adjustments are more centred at the distances I'll be shooting. Which will be 300 yards and less unfortunately.

two ways to approach this:

Burris rings with inserts and reverse shim the scope

I can offer you EGW bases for the Ruger American... not sure on the RPR.

But I would just shoot the rifle and see where your zero is now. It might be fine. Action, rails and barrels don't always point in the direction you are expecting.

I'll do a little experiment one of these days at the range. I'll dial for a 300m zero, and get a good sight picture on targets. Then I'll dial down 20MOA and see if the sight picture looks cleaner.

Far better test... figure out the total scope travel. find the middle and view your target... further away the better.

Dial all the way to the top minus a few minutes... view the target and note any changes

Dial all the way to the bottom plus a few minutes... etc, etc, etc. Try not to jam the turrent at the end of travel.. it can damage some scopes.

Some scopes will show little to no difference, some will be vastly change. If you have one that changes a bunch, dial back slowly to center and see when the view mimics the central view. There will be a noticeable transistion and that typically goes the other way from center.

So you have what I consider the "useable" travel... which may be a lot less then the "possible" travel.

I run this test on all scopes I test/review regardless of price point... You can of course muck about with the windage as well as compare mag range.

Most will find this quite an enlightening experience...

Good luck.
