BCL 102 stripped receiver set thread

so if I just want a durable, hard, black finish, should I get an unfinished receiver from BCL and ship it to you guys to clean up and then anodize ?

There IS a reason that the industry standard for aluminum finish within the firearms industry, along with other industries where aluminum is used extensively, is anodizing.
I cannot imagine why BCL has elected to employ a more expensive to apply "coating" rather than to increase the surface hardness of the softer aluminum alloy that is ever used in firearms manufacturing.

IF they are willing to provide the raw unfinished parts, I believe you would have a better end result getting the parts anodized, by anyone who has the capability to do it.
Some shops are better than others in the quality of their anodizing we have learned from experience.
To be clear. We do NOT do anodizing in-house, but we do a very good job of prepping for anodizing. Costs are kept down by doing larger batches, so yours would receive the exact same anodizing as our products receive as yours would be included in a batch of our product we take for anodizing.

Since my stripped receiver set will be here in the next month or two (fingers crossed) I have started buying all the components I need to put the rifle together.

So far I have the following:

-Fulton Armory Barrel, BCG, and gas tube
-SLR Helix Handguard
-Trigger Tech Trigger

I thinking the items below from Brownells should finish things off. Is there anything I'm missing? Cheers!

Here are some side by side of BCL parts Vs Fulton Armory parts.

By upgrading the barrel, BCG, and Hand guard I was able to shed .719 Lbs off :) I was hoping to be 1 Lbs but like usual I fall short... lol...

As you can see the BCG ships with a proper retaining pin, 1 piece gas ring and no machine marks....

I sold my receiver set awhile back. i got around to contacting SFRC to get it into the new owners name (with PAL, address, etc.)

and instead of just a "sorry, we can't do that" we get a new thread with ryan claiming an epidemic of people are re-selling their receiver sets for profit, and "HE WILL NOT ALLOW IT".

how does he know how much any of us sold our sets for? Personally, I've only seen three others for sale on the EE, all for under the SFRC price, mine included.

i'm not selling my receiver set because of some scheme to scalp $100 on resale. I'm selling my receiver set because I have no confidence in BCL or SFRC.

i gave them a second shot with the introduction of the receiver sets. I figured it was a change in demeanor. clearly it wasnt, because they cannot even deliver a spec sheet, a single piece of paper with less than 50 words, that was promised last year.

rant over.

Who cares if we sell some receivers for more. Still a better deal for those wanting to build from a stripped receiver than buying a complete rifle and being stuck with $650 of parts no one want and you won't use. Better for that $ to go to parts that one will use.

He didn't say he won't allow it. He said he won't switch buyers through his end. That is all. He said in the statement we are free to do what we want with them. But if we want to sell then it has to go to original buyer and then be sold to whomever you want.

Understandable. I get where Ryan is coming from about not switching buyers on his end, its an additional pain in the ass for something he already sold.

The comment on scalping them was a bit much. I watch the ee pretty strongly most days, and have not seen any other sets roll across except yours. The $850 you asked was completely fair, especially considering we dont know if or when we get a chance to order more sometime in the future.

We started the thread as 5-6 people have done it so far. One set has been sold 3 times...new buyers reselling. Everyone is more than welcome to sell for what ever they want but we’re shipping to the people to originally bought it and they can ship it to who they sold it too. Black and unpainted sets ship Tuesday.
