Tavor optics opinions wanted

Close to medium range.

Define medium range and POU.

The Tavor is heavy. I love the Elcan i had on mine, but after carrying it A LOT. the 26 oz added weight gets annoying.

Something light in the 1-4x or 1-6x range would be perfect. Strike Eagle. Meh.

Leupold VX-R 1.25-4x is only 12oz. Add an Aero Precision mount and it's only 3oz more.

Trijicon Accupoint is close as well.

If you want more magnification, the 3-9x adds maybe an ounce.

Little more budget friendly from Leupold, AR MOD 1 series.

I use a Mepro M21 with bullseye, the same model used by the IDF on the majority of their CTARs. I have had zero issues with it aside from what has been mentioned about them before.

I started out with a Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 1.5-4x20mm with the fire dot reticle. It's a great light weight close to mid range optic. I wanted a little more magnification and I liked the Leupold so I replaced it with the same optic except in a 3-9x40. It didn't add enough extra weight to make it noticeable.

I kinda want to go with one but with the but after 10 years your reticule is going to fade and then what, buy a new sight?

I have a Mepro M5, I like it! Really clear glass with no tint, and the 1.8MOA dot is noticeably finer than the usual 2MOA.

Constant on battery life with your typical alkaline AA is 7 months in ym experience.

I've put a couple hundred more rounds through my 9mm x95 with the fresh Mepro M21 mounted. I love it! Reticle washout has not been an issue for me, even shooting outdoors from shady covered ports into snowy berms. I've got the triangle version and the point of the triangle can be used very precisely. Up close just put the whole thing on the bullseye

ACOG all the things! Okay, that's an inside joke no one here will get. I don't have much experience with optics, high end ones are pretty cost prohibitive for me right now, but I do have an EoTech 512. Despite all the bad press, I love mine. Especially fond of the 1moa dot and 65moa circle, but I am aware EoTech is not the only optic to feature this. So take that for what it's worth.

Additionally I have a Bushnell TRS-25 representing the budget optics. Had it mounted scout-style on my M305 until I determined that co-witnessed optics gave zero actual benefit on that platform, now it's on my 870. For what I paid for it, honestly I love it. No complaints, no bells and whistles either, but for the price-tag it is what it is. 3" slugs through my 870 haven't killed it yet and if they did, Bushnell has a pretty sweet warranty.

So that is my very limited input on the matter.
