Washing brass with warm/hot water?? I have reasons to ask...

Is it just me, or does 3 tablespoons of soap seem like a lot?

With my STM tumbler I use 2 tablespoons of dawn dish washing liquid and 1/4 teaspoon of LemiShine.

After tumbling the water should still be sudsy, just like washing dishes. If the water isn't sudsy your brass and dishes will not be clean.

The soap holds the dirt in suspension and off your brass and any surplus soap is rinsed off.

The amount of soap depends on how hard your water is, and I have hard well water. So you have to know how dirty your brass is and how hard your water is and experiment with soap amounts.

Fair enough I've got nice clean city water so dish soap tends to go a long ways... I keep trying to explain that to the wife but she continues to use way too much laundry soap...
