Been steady rain all morning, 2 toms and 4 hens came by around 7 30 at 120yds. They weren't interested in the decoys or call.
Haven't heard or seen anything since.
Anyone having any luck

Horseshoe year for me. Heard one gobble behind me in the bush at 6:40, purred and clucked once. Four minutes later, he pops out of the bush, zeroes-in on my jake decoy and takes a run at him! Thankfully, he stopped about 25 yards from me to size him up, so I managed to stop him! Just protecting my buddy Judah, not a hero, just a friend...

20.5 lbs, 9 1/2" beard, 1" spurs. Oh yeah, and here is the worst after kill pic in history...It was pouring rain before, during and after, so I can't be picky. Basement looks like a camo hobo camp with all my gear spread out to dry.

My morning was similar, but I only had 1 tom go by around the same time. He wasn’t interested in anything either and kept going.

My son and were out too this morning. If it wasn't for the blind I'm not sure we'd have gone.
Saw some hens and toms around 7:00am and they also were not interested in anything we had to offer, however one tom came just a little too close while he was feeding at the fields edge.

He got spanked by a 3 1/2 Winchester Long Beard by my son. This was his first year after he had apprenticed for 3 years,, used his own tag finally!
There were two other toms and 9 hens out about 70 yards who,,other then looking at the flopping bird, weren't fazed at all from the bang. Hung around for a bit then meandered away.

Try to post a pic, but 21lbs, 3/4 spurs, 8 1/2 inch beard.

I shot a Tom @ 5 yards. Damn near took his head off. Walked across the field on a string to my Jake decoy. Came out as soon as the rain stopped at 9am.

No gobbles from the roost, but was gobbling once he saw my decoys.

Sat under a big spruce tree. Heard gobbling a long way in the distance at 5:50am and at 610am. Had 2 hens come in at 6:20 and they stayed for 15 minutes and then left. A single hen came in at 7:05 am and pecked around for quite a while, every time she would wander off into the bush I would give a couple of soft calls on my pot call and she would return. At 820 am I heard a gobble that sounded close so I gave a couple of calls again. At 8:35 am he showed himself and I dropped him at 30 yards. The hen flew away when I went to retrieve the Tom. 20.3 lbs, 10" beard right spur 1", left spur 1/2". No pics but man it was some wet out there.

Back in the blind again this morning. No gobbling yet. Wind is blowing so they will probably be quite again today.
One of the most experienced Guy I ever hunted with gave me the best advice. Patience is the best technic to brings home birds.
Will put pic up of yesterday's Bird late.
How everybody else doing today?

Never heard a single gobble yesterday, but saw lots of birds... they are sounding off this morning... couple big lads won't leave the hens to come visit, going to reposition shortly.

Set up in a spot yesterday that had tons of turkeys last year but this time we only heard a few gobbles and they were a few fields over (not our property). They never got within a field of us. Steady rain most of the morning. I am hoping it is just early in the season since last year it was mid May when we showed up to hunt this location. Still very wet in the woods around there.

Our blinds set up the evening prior.

Hopefully more action next time we get a chance to go out.

Update from opening day, it started out slow, was raining and cold, didn't hear any gobbling. Around 7:30 heard a shot about 4 or 5 fields over on another property. At around 8:30 looked out the back of my blind and there were 4 hens and 2 toms just coming into the field from the direction the shot had came from earlier. They came across the field at about 120yrds and didn't show any interested in my decoys or calls and went into the bush on the other side of the field. The birds travel back and forth between the 2 patches of bush 2 or 3 times during the day so decided to wait them out.
At around 12:00 a lone tom came out behind me again, not sure where he came from but was able to get him to stop and look my way will a few clucks from my pot call. Once he seen the decoys he started making his way over but hung up at around 100yds. After about 10 mins of soft purrs and clucks he started over but came in at an angle I could get a shot out of the blind.
A couple of soft purrs and came within 4 yards of the blind, had to wait for him to turn around and head for the decoys before I could get the gun up. When he was at 6 yds both our days ended, mine better than his. A 3 1/2 inch Federal #5 stops them pretty quick at 6 yds.
Not the biggest bird but a keeper for opening day, 8 3/4 beard, a 5/8 and a 7/8 spur. His 2 dads are still there and one has a beard that almost drags on the ground. Going back next weekend with my daughter to try and get her first bird. Hard to get good pics when your alone, propped phone up on blind and set timer.
