It's been awhile since I bought anything DD. I think the last time was right around their initial release of the mk18 rifles.
Anyways, I needed a new buffer tube/receiver extension and figured DD has always been a rock solid choice. Inexpensive, regarded in my mind as a quality manufacturer, couldn't go wrong.

I will say that I have no qualms that this thing won't work, and I'm not going to cry over crap tooling and finishing on a rifle that's going to see some abuse and neglect. I'm just curious to know if anyone else has found similar issues.

In essence, is Daniel Defence not what it used to be? Have they gone the way of profit margins>quality ?
Curious to what everyone else has found.

Well I guess this is the benefit of open forums, I had no idea this was a norm comparing to my Colt USA, BCM & Noveske rifles.

Seriously... if you want a combat grade AR that's also museum grade. Just buy a HK.

See where it says this?

No where did I whine about cosmetics. I've never encountered anything like this on any rifle I've ever used or worked on and I wanted to know if a manufacturer I hold in high regard as a quality manufacturer has gone the way of others i.e. cheaping out on materials or workmanship in favor of profit margins, or if this is just an unusual or never before encountered anomaly.
