Will Tavor and AR-15 likely to be effected by C-71?

Got any other examples of guns the rcmp decided are prohib after initial NR or R classification, such as what occurred with the 858/san rifles?

You mean something like all the rifles that were banned by name when the AR went restricted? Don't you think the 858 and Swiss Arms rifles are enough for recent reclassification? They can do whatever they want and it's pretty obvious our Federal government isn't going to step in and stop them and our gun orgs don't seem to be doing much for us either.
This is just the beginning, we're going to lose a few rifles a year until we get the Lieberals out of power.
I'm actually shocked that they've approved so many rifles for non restricted lately.

The BDs come to mind. At least the CPC Government of the day paid compensation.

All those guns were banned by politicians not the rcmp.

It was the RCMP SFSS who originally classified the BDs as restricted and subsequently reclassified them as prohibited.

What is the BD? I'm not familiar with that gun.
Same with AP80 and G22. I can probably dig out the letter on RCMP letterhead advising the FRT was changed from NR to Prohib.

Why was the G22 turned prohib? Google tells me the AP80 was deemed an AK variant? How ridiculous is that (I'm actually asking, does the design have much to do with the AK? The Blaze 47 being an AK variant is absurd, is this equally bad?)

I don't know much about any of these guns, they must have been prohib before I got my license.

We are one mass shooting incident away from a ban on "Assault" rifles.

Really? Las Vegas and parkland both happened in the last year, and yet the only thing that got prohib with c71 is something the rcmp already declared prohib years ago.

Now, I'm not saying it's impossible and there is zero chance, I just feel like If they were that eager to ban stuff why didn't they take this opportunity? Antis were calling for stuff like bans on all semi autos and handgun bans in urban centers (and some of these ideas even polled above 50%), yet basically all we got was stuff promised during the election years ago.

Again, I wouldn't be shocked if bans did happen, but to me it seems the evidence suggests they're not really interested in us one way or the other - they're not against using us to gain votes though.

The G22 decision was just goofy...essentially, despite originally be classified as “NR”, someone in the RCMP SFSS lab determined that the G22 bull pup stock was not integral to the rifle and that it could be fired without the stock attached. For reasons I don’t fully understand, this made the stock prohibited (but not the rifle)...go figure, right? And with no kind of aftermarket replacement stock available, what good is the barreled action? Bottom line, owners were sent a letter saying surrender or else.

AP80 is same type of bs as with the Blaze47. A 22LR with AK furniture prohibited because of looks...Same letter though - surrender or go to jail.

If Vegas or Parkland happened in Canada, %90 of Canadians would scream for a total ban on firearms and this would be all over...

6 dead 19 injured in the mosque shooting in Quebec, January 2017... No guns banned...

I'm not saying it couldn't happen, I just don't think it is a certainty. Seems Canada doesn't have the same "blame the gun" mentality of the US.

You are apparently naive in the extreme, and as a result I am going to surmise that you are far too young to have experienced first-hand the introduction and slow strangulation that resulted from the implementation of the 12(3), (4), (5) and (6) classes. Combine that recent history and pattern of government behaviour with the Liberals' well-documented civill disarmament agenda and that puts us one more Liberal majority away from unmitigated disaster in the form of gun control the likes of which you have never seen (or apparently contemplated). Just what in the bloody Hell do you think is the purpose of the 12(9) class which the Minister of Public Safety refuses to even discuss?!?! Seriously, I swear that some of you are wilfully ignorant as to where this is all headed. How utterly depressing that some CGNers still can't (or simply won't) read the writing on the waĺl....

I think some people actually believe what politicians say and what they hear on the "news".

Honestly, buy your NRs now! Because as of right now, they don't know how many you own. When they move to R class or prohib, that is your call if you want to tell the government what you own, and register them. If they don't know you own them, then they don't know jack!

I am speaking specifically about an incident in Canada not the US.. Yes we have had some tragedies here, but if we ever see anything like Las Vegas or Parkland say good bye to all semi autos remotely scary looking.. AR's, Tavor's etc. and maybe even the SKS. Take a look at Australia.. they are down to bolt guns and long shotguns with lever actions dangerously close to the chopping block.
