I've grown kind of tired of my m305 and figure its time to breath some new life into it. Unfortunately most nearly all images on this board of these adaptor stocks are now broken links. One user who made some really nice ones back in the day is now banned. Are folks still building these? How have they held up over the years? Do you still have photos of your rifle? I want to see them. Thanks.

Edit: I'm referring to the use of the nea or mesa style adaptors for shotguns that allow the use of an ar butt stock.

I am probably the banned guy from that thread you mentioned ...long story but I am back.
Once I get home I can post some pics as my old ones were on Photobucket .Overall it is a pretty easy job to complete.

A NEA 870 buttstock adapter is used .

After it is cut 3 holes need to be drilled in the stock to make room for the tabs on the buttstock adapter

I used an aluminum block inside the stock to attach the buttstock adapter and it was cut at an angle at the top to make sure the bolt has clearance .

I used Krylon make it stone spray can to give a textured surface on the side of the stock and then painted the stock .

I picked up this stock/adaptor setup at the Kamloops gun show. It's Chu wood, I finished off the sanding, bleached it, then gave it a few coats of 100% tung oil, and steel wooled it between coats.

It's still a tad oily to the touch, I'm slowly working on that. It's about 10 ounces lighter than the black plastic Norinco stock.

That chu wood is unbelievably soft. I'll be looking for a different stock at some point, probably a Boyds. I'm still undecided on the AR stock, but even if I decide against it, I can always put it on my Grizzly.

I also got a unitized gas system, an M14Medic spring guide and spring, and a spare handguard. I removed the flash hider, original gas system, and op-rod guide this weekend. Slowly but surely getting this back together the way I (think) I want it.

And I'm looking forward to shooting reduced loads with it.

So I decided to take my Socom 18 Deer hunting this year , I have had an Eotech and a Bushnell TRS 25 mounted on it in the past and now I have put on a Vortex Sparc as it gave me the best sight picture. The trigger shoe from H2O man was a good addition as the pistol grip changes the angle my hand is at and the original trigger doesn't fit as well without the trigger shoe. I also added a pad to the buttstock and painted it camo...I am really happy hunting with it this year and how it turned out.

I picked it up off of the E.E at a great price...they are not cheap coming from the States but are a big improvement to the trigger .

I sold my mod stock to a guy on here a couple of weeks back, it worked well and was solid.

The mod stocks were a lot of fun to make and pretty easy for anyone who is handy with tools and a measuring tape.
My favorite M14 stock is the M14s-CQB stocks I used to make in my own molds with carbon fiber/fiberglass composite.
Been tempted a few times to dust off those molds but the "m14 craze" seems to have faded out so the best option for folks is to do the mod shown in this thread.

Hello Thomas ...good to see you on here again ! If you ever decide to make another one of those stocks let me know ! It would be great to have one of yours on one of my 3 M-305,s before they all get banned ..lol

when Trudeau got elected the first time around I shelved rifle stocks as a business. I saw the writing on the wall and needed to switch gears.
I have long thought about getting back into making rifle stocks but would need to diversify into primarily the popular bolt actions. That market is already filled with several stock makers with long standing reputations and I am relatively unknown save for m14 circles.
Long story short..... under the current political climate, I doubt you will see any more m14 stocks from me. You aren't the first to ask and while I will always honor the lifetime warranty on my rifle stocks, there is really no future in making more.
