Scope stuff

You'll get better results if you had of recorded this and uploaded to youtube, with some footage looking through the 2 scopes, then returned it for warranty work with a mention of the link to your youtube video so they can look at the issue, and maybe offered to take the video down once properly repaired.

Social media can put a lot of pressure or positive view on a manufacturer or vendor, I don't say this to hold anyone to ransom, but it could be an opportunity for them to show how well they perform in a warranty situation vs. how poorly and I have no issue with respectfully posting a manufacturers flaws or giving positive feedback for good service.

I had couple of bad experiences with Stainer brand, binoculars in particular couple of decades ago and I think
their quality control and service is sub par compared to others and doubt that anything has changed over the years.
I said that before and will say it again....for me at least Stainer brand is a German Tasco.

I had a T5Xi 5-25x56mm, and I've got a few M5Xis 5-25x56mm, no issues so far. One of my M5Xi's is on a 50 and sees plenty of abuse, but seems to be holding up.

Was thinking about getting another T5Xi.

No shiit Steiner have issue with there scopes, Just got another Steiner last week, is the P4Xi 4-16X56mm, look like a very nice glass, but there is big problem when using turret for dialling in, two mil rad up and two mil rad Right will only give you 1.7mrad up and 1.7mrad Right, this is the second scope I had to send back to manufacture for warranties, the first scope with problem was the T5Xi 5-25X56mm, What a coincidence ??, it will take month if not year to deal with this problem, and steiner manufacture know of this problem. Thank God Steiner do have a full department to deal with Warranties with Customer, from an Old problem that they know it exist, even they guy for the shop know that this had happen before with different scope from the same manufacture. That scope listed as having 30Milrad in total for elevation, I found out at the range that is only had 20Milrad Elevation in Total. what a joke.

you're not the only one, go on the sniperhide forum. They have the out-of-focus, tracking and off center reticle issues right from day one when the T5xi was released 3 years ago. For the owners of the T5xi, P4xi and the Burris XTR, dial the reticle in until the outer hash marks almost even with the edge of the glass and see if the hash marks are evenly spaced. All the ones I've looked through including mine, the reticle is off center by 0.2 to 0.3 mils and out-of-focus reticle. Can be seen in the photo.

Steiner Update!
Recently, I received a call from Colorado (Steiner headquarters) They are replacing my scope!
I had my doubts, but they came through. I returned the scope to Stoeger Canada, and will have to go through the process of being shipped to Colorado then when they receive it they will ship me a new identical scope back they said 1-3 weeks turnaround, but my service was way longer and don't expect miracles. I understand the warranty department is very busy.
Its strange, I had problems at all, I've spoken to numerous Steiner owners who absolutely love the scope. I may have received the one built on Friday at 3:30 Pm.
Perhaps, QC was thinking about the weekend more ?
However, as far as I know I'm the only one so far that has had issues. So Far?

We do not offer refunds. As stated before, our policy is repair before replace. Your scope is being evaluated.

Michael Nicolaidis on 4/20/2018 5:53 PM MST

Actually in reply to your update:

I received a phone call from Your Colorado Steiner outfit Identifying I would receive a new working scope.
Perhaps you should ask your superior or perhaps take the time to reflect on the prior notes on my return file.
I've just about had it with no one knows anything replies! Or comments like the scope cant focus because the diopler was turned out!
The tests claimed to be done on that scope are bogus ! no one at my Gun club could focus clearly ! we tried and tried!
Just send me a check for the full purchase price . you will never deal with me again !

Steiner Optics Support on 4/20/2018 7:34 AM MST

As our process is repair before replace, your scope will be repaired if necessary. Thank you for your understanding.

Michael Nicolaidis on 4/19/2018 5:54 PM MST

I received your e-mail April 18, 2018 , identifying receipt of my scope sent April 4 2018....Great!
I look forward to receiving my new scope. Crossed fingers for no new issues with new one.

Thank you so much, I look forward to receiving my new reliable optic ASAP. My PRS rifle misses her.

Special thanks to the awesome team ! Michael Nicolaidis

April 23, 2018.
I caution Steiner purchasers ! If you have warranty issues Good luck with service and repair.
As you may have noted I am unsatisfied with the customer service and warranty. make your own choices but be informed!

CLAIM Started NOVEMBER 2017 Keep that in mind! when reading the posts.

Just a Quick update on Steiner Warranty or lack of ?? (Steiner cost: w/taxes, shipped to door $3800.00 CAD from Wolverine Supplies) NOT Cheap right!????
I've contacted Steiner looking for some semblance of responsible ethical updates on progress and time frame for returns. Not out of the question for someone waiting over a month for warranty team to even look at scope right?
So just that you all know history....... When I posted on Steiner web site that I would share my warranty issues with all the shooters I am in contact with. I received a stressed phone call from a guy who claimed to be Management at Colorado location of Burris (Steiner) The individual claimed that he would replace my scope due to my issues no questions asked! just send in you scope with this warranty ID. so I shipped it!

Unfortunately; the left hand is not talking to the right hand (Meaning complete and utter chaos at Steiner AKA BURRIS Colorado. ) No new scope, no follow up from management! No nothing not even an explanation! NOTE: COMMENTS IN REVERSE ORDER AS ON STEINER SITE COPY AND PASTE>

I have requested contact with the individual who contacted me; twice, not once but twice!!!!!! in writing!!!!!!! please note the replies I receive from the warranties department at Steiner!!!!!

Hello,

As soon as we have an update available we will let you know. Have a great day!

Michael Nicolaidis on 5/03/2018 9:36 AM MST

Would it be possible to receive a comprehensive progress report on your evaluation process ?

As you identified evaluation currently in process, May 1, two days earlier.
Also (second request) would it be possible to receive the name of the gentleman who contacted me by telephone mid April? I would like to follow up with that person.

Michael Nicolaidis on 5/01/2018 5:25 AM MST

Any updates on progress?
Can you identify steps taken thus far and identify turn around time?
Also would it be possible to receive the name of the gentleman who contacted me by telephone mid April? I would like to follow up with that person.

As a service to other CGNers I am updating you ! (STEINER OPTIC)

I wanted to update CGNer's on something I came across at a major US gun sales distributer
THIS IS COPIED AND PASTED directly off site : https://www.deguns.net/steiner-optics-tactical-rifle-scopes-T5Xi-s/2448.htm

We have recently found Steiner's product quality has significantly decreased. We have experienced more issues with their products than any other manufacturer in the firearms industry. Steiner as a company we have found to be extremely difficult to work with. For these reasons we will no longer carry anything from the Steiner brand. This is the first time we have been un able to work with a manufacturer. We value our customers and do not want them to have the same experience. Our number one goal is to provide quality products at an affordable price and excellent customer service. Schmidt & Bender, Leupold, Vortex, Trijicon, and Rudolph Optics provide excellent products and stand behind there products unconditionally against any factory defects.

Please note that I can concur with the above statement, as I have had nothing but grief with Steiner Warranty department, extremely poor responses, attitude, and denial of duties have soured my pallet for any Steiner product.

I am currently still awaiting resolution with my $3800.00 CAD Steiner ( I would be so happy with refund at this point!) Then I could buy an other two Vortex PST Gen 2 5-25 x 50 scopes (WAY BETTER QUALITY OPTIC)

Received a new reply today from Steiner.
Keep in mind that initial reply stating nothing was wrong with my scope the Doppler issue!
Finally Steiner took the time to investigate. But I worry they may have only resolved symptoms rather than issue.
I’ll update you all if and when I recieve it back
I’m scheptical about repair 😎
Still have not received call or info about promise to replace defective scope.

Our policy is repair before replace. A new scope will not be shipped. Your scope is being repaired and should be done today.

The lenses in your scope were adjusted and the clarity and resolution issue has been resolved.

Thank you for your patience.

Interesting. It’s to bad that people have to pay a big price to find out about lack of quality and poor service. We thank you for feedback on this product.

I'd look at S&B & Kahles first. Viper PST is not exactly quality.

Steiner was known only for their binos and not scopes.

warrenty wows

Steiner Lies!
Still not inreciept of scope and they identified they repaired it
Hmmmmm like the Doppler issue?
They did nothing and sent back a useless scope
We shall see !
Anyone want to but a scope?

Wow, you expect this kind of treatment with a $100 scope not a $4000 one, at that price point they should be bending over backwards to make things right instead of feeding a customer bull####
