Compact 9mm available in Canada?

Looks good! Thanks! How does the M&P 9C compare with the Glock 19? Grip seems to be a bit shorter on the M&P?

Are those prices actually Canadian dollar on the IRG website? I clicked on the Canadian store but it still lists everything USD.

the M&P is a LOT smaller than the Glock19, ill see if i can get off my butt and take a pic to compare them for ya, but the 9C is a a lot smaller both in slide length and handle.
im running the extended magazine in it on that pic, the normal mag leaves your pinking out in space floating on its own which i dont care for.

i picked my 9C up a couple years back so im not sure what irunguns has theirs listed for right now, i know that when i got mine i paid pretty much half what some other stores in Canada where selling theirs for, keep in mind dollar was at parity back then too.

I like the 229 also. I've got a bar-sto TB in right now, but I'm looking to change it to a Broache 106mm barrel in 9mm later on. The barrel would stick out a lot less, and look more "natural" :)

im not a sig owner so maybe this is common knowledge.... but why does it look like there is a button half way down the grip?
at first i thought it was the mag release then i noticed it wasn't.... now i have no idea what it is.
directly below the UE on the grip.

Glock 17 on the outside, Glock 19 in the middle (jam), M&P9C on the other side.
also, keep in mind you can get the same thing as the 9C but from Glock as well, subcompact one, G26.

Frickin Laser's man

now that you said laser and ive looked back at the pic i can clearly see the laser on the grips.

i wouldn't mind trying a crimson trace some day, the concept of a grip laser appeals to me.

The one limiting factor in any choice is definied by our silly barrel length law. You can get "slimmer" with a single stack, but the OAL will always be determined by "Rule 105". (Perhaps the Boberg gets around this my some clever mechanical jiggery-pokery.)

No offence to wayupnorth or others, but I simply can't see the point of a really compact pistol with a compliant-length barrel stuck on to it; just looks "wrong" (IMHO, of course.). My Ruger SR9's barrel measures, I think, 105.7mm. I'm afraid to polish the muzzle too much for fear of turning it into a prohib. (!)

Thanks for the pictures. Kind of curious on the availability of S&W MPc magazines, as well as magazines for the Glock 26, 27, and whatever the .45 version is called. And is there Canadian compliant Glock compacts available in Canada?

Thanks for all replies.

for both the M&P and the Glocks you can also use the full sized pistol mag's, which of course looks funny because they hang out the bottom, but you can use them.
you can also buy spacers to put on the full sized mags so they wont look so bad.

and yes you can get the exact same thing in a Glock as my M&P you just need to find a place that will buy them, swap in a 106mm barrel and import.
Questar and Irungunz both do it that i know of, also a 3rd place but we are not allowed to mention them here at CGN.
(They which we do not speak of!!!!)

im not sure about subcompact glock mags but i do know that Irungunz had a bunch of mags for the M&P9C when i purchased mine off them, like 5 or something like that.
not sure if they would have any now.

but, most of the places that import stuff monthly are pretty good about getting stuff in for ya.
if you call them and mention to them that you have a...... Glock 26 or whatever and wonder if they would stock some mags for them, they probably would.

also, if you call irunguns and im sure Prophet River or Questar and whoever you use and talk to them they would bring ya in a package deal.
ei, pistol with barrel and 4-5 mags.

Qustar is showing stock in both the M&P9C and M&P40C
they also show they are taking orders for Glock 23, 26, 27, 30, 36 and 38.

Irungunz will bring anything off their US site to canada at no charge and they show most all of those guns in stock.

I have a P239 in the USA. I've been planning on selling it b/c the barrel is too short for Canada - 3.6". I have done a quick google search but haven't seen any 4+" barrels. Can you give any info? I love that gun. I would rather get a longer barrel than sell it.

Just order the threaded P239 Tactical barrel. Questar has some. You can get it in USA easily.

Since you're already in the US, I think CDNN had some of the longer 239 barrels a while back. Only ever seen them in 9mm. You might even be able to order direct from Sig Sauer as they are factory barrels.

Thanks for all the replies, fellas. I settled on getting a Sarsilmaz B6C. It's a CZ 75 type, polymer gun. The dimensions didn't sound like it would be much smaller, than a full size, but it is.
Particularly if you use compact magazines with the metal bottoms. Shaves it down a bit more. I already own a full size Chinese clone, so this made a bit of sense with the holsters, and mag availability. The magazines from the full size fit right in, and for fun I swapped the plastic bottom of a mag, with a steel bottom off a full size mag, and it fit perfectly. Slight gap in the grips when using it though.

My first impressions are of a high quality, well built gun. It's a bit of an adjustment shooting it, with a bit of take up on the trigger, but it seems to be capable of fine accuracy. Out of the box, the magazines seem like they could take a little bit of smoothing out, but a drop of oil worked for what seemed like sticky followers.

Haven't shot it a lot yet, but noticed with a few shells that the ejector might be a bit stiff, and did not snap over the rim. A bit of a tap on the back of the slide, got things moving again though. It seems to be very consistent, and dumps all the casings in the same spot, which is nice.

Comes with 2 mags, cleaning kit, oil, nice box and manual. Stainless barrel, and doing some reading, it sounds as if the slide may be as well. Not sure if it is, as the full size version is 4140 steel. Anyway, it has a nice black nitrate (?) finish. Sights are decent 3 dot, with photoluminescent paint.

Comes in a few different shades, but only black was available when I put my order in. In it's future, I am planning on shaving and filling the backstrap slightly (for use with steel bottom mags), getting a couple of CZ 75 compact mags which apparently fit (and will have the front of the bottom plates shortened and smoothed), sanding the corners on the rear, and scalloping the front. May narrow the trigger guard slightly. The material removal on the front of the gun should make it more compatible with CZ holsters.

Then a paint job on the bottom plastic.

Looking forward to getting to know, and personalizing this little gem.
