Converting prohib to restricted

I have inherited a S&W 29-2 4 " and a Luger 1936 4" and would like to re barrel to restricted. Any suggestions on the best way to do this.

Not sure about the S&W, but check out Peter at the Luger Collector he does conversions when selling old prohibit Lugers.

Dlask sells the longer, by 5mm, Luger barrels. I'm doing the same conversion once I find some Luger replacement springs and grips.

Why convert the Luger? If you are inheriting it, you may be able to keep it, as is, as a 12.7

I see 44Mag barrels on ebay from time to time.

He'll be able to pass it on to his family. Or sell it to a larger market.

Unless he already has 12/6 he won't be inheriting the smith without the conversion.

I don't have 12.6 and don't qualify for 12.7 so I have to convert to restricted as I don't really have any intention of selling and don't believe there is any real collector value that could be changed.

Is the police positive mint?? $400 seems like a lot for one of those in prohib trim.

Epps lists it as "good", with "light pitting" on the cylinder and mangled wood grips.

That would be a very wise move. Its a $250-$300 at the very most if it were in better condition...
