Looking for a vortex scope (for the no fault warranty) for hunting, target shooting. Looking to buy once cry once kind of thing. I have 1" rings but could upgrade to 30mm

Yes, instead of a scope with a stellar reputation for the great service to thousands of customers who needed warranty, I'd look toward manufacturers who have a reputation for not needing warranty service.

I understand and agree. But I was the reason for need of warranty work.

The vortex Razor line up is nice. Sits around your price range and is active in Military and LE use

How do you get a Razor for the price of a PST?

The PST GenII has good glass and the clicks are serviceable.

I think the 3-15 may fit in that price range.

Athlon optics also has a no brainer lifetime warranty.

And they offer some great scopes in popular features and pricing.

so far, not had to worry about warranty so that is a nice thing.

For the price point the OP suggests I have to agree with Jerry - go Athlon. I have the ( albeit more expensive ) Cronus BTR and so far it is every bit the equal of my 3 Razor II's which cost considerably more.

I did not know they made a 1" tube capped version, but not the same features as the PST 2. Although not sure what the OP was exactly looking for.
