No small game hunting from end of February till Sept?

That's what happens when you folks continuously elect dilettantes and socialists who think in the abstract strata, rather than in the realistic strata.

Most game animals have seasons (understand not all animals are game animals), usually closed during the summer for raising young. Groundhogs and some others aren't considered game animals and have no season and no limits unless it's changed. Its been many years since I hunted whistle pigs

Its birthing/rearing season, so it makes 100% sense and I fully support it. And its end of March for most, not February, so you might want to re-read them.

There are some exceptions still though - wolf and coyote are open year around in many units. Turkey and bear are open right now (bears admittingly not small game).

So coyotes, crows, woodchuck, skunk, possum are all fair game. Maybe others are in season from feb - sept. Best time of year to kill coyotes is right now, Jus sayin...
Of course turkey season from April til May30 also...

But then fishin...;-)

Giorgio, you may want to have another look, and pay attn to the wildlife unit numbers. There is lots of small game hunting going on. (dependant on MWU #'s).
Where I am red fox, coyote, and wolf is open all year.

No - that's what happens when we heed solid scientific advice to maximize biodiversity and maintain healthy populations of game animals. Harvest a mother animal now and the young are wasted.

As for pest species such as skunk, porcupine and southern coyote there is no season because these animals are harmful so hunting is permitted anytime with unlimited bag limits.
