Can anyone help identify these dog collars?

Country of origing and time period?



They came on a likely Vietnam captured Type56 SKS attached to an early style Chinese sks sling. At first I thought they might be pre-ww2 Soviet. But I'm pretty sure now that they are not. A couple of others have suggested that they might be Finnish. Might they be French if from SE Asia? Or could they be from some other piece of gear like a field pack or a satchel of some sort?

Impossible to be certain. But stitching pattern reminds me of Yougo mauser sling retainers.

I'm not sure what the rest of the sling looks like but its also possible that those straps were add-ons. They may be contemporary but could have been off of any number of other objects and could be preferred over snap on clips by some.

My guest would be eastern European origin of some type. I have a lot of horse tack that would look similar.

Not hard to handcraft them.

Kinda. Only much earlier. I think the one in your photo has a plastic adjusting buckle.

Also the original color of mine would not have been the same:

look like they use dog collar because the original got lost or something...
