Did anybody get turned on by the Sten guns for sale?

I have seen a couple of methods.
Selector welded in "R" position, trigger pin welded to prevent removal.
Selector welded in "R" position, trigger mechanism cover welded to main casing.

First Sten I bought was $35, but it was unaltered.
 
I just bought a converted auto sten made in Israel. Havent got it yet . I am curious with the deactivated ones. I called the SSFS and they told me that both the mag well and the tube are now considered prohibited. I know they have been wrong before. It just used to be the mag well was prohibited because it has the serial number. Are the mag wells on the deactivated stens altered in any way.? If not why aren't they prohibited? Really confused as I am interested in building a semi auto sten. The SFSS isn't much help. I have asked about this and they have gone silent. Probably just don't want me to attempt it.

Last time I checked the mag well was considered the receiver... it’s my belief that this was done so all pipe wasn’t prohibited. Mind you, they took care of that with blow guns ;)

I think the reason dewats are not prohibited is because they are no longer a firearm...
 
yeah but if you cut the mag well off of a dewat is the mag well a prohibited weapon. What difference is it if the mag well is on a dewat or off? Really has me confused but then so do most of our gun laws

cut it off ? all you need to do is remove the front sight (tap it out of its dovetail) and the mag well slides off.

My LongBranch is #### and click :) and I paid a lot less then $600 :)
 
I always get excited when I see sten guns for sale. But then I see the price...and close the page down. Any deactivated gun is worth $100 max to me. They are paper weights.

Did any here see that non-restricted police Sten for sale? Now that got me real excited but then I saw the price. I think it was $5800. That is a solid nope

I am just going to keep dreaming that wolverine or norinco slaps ones together at war time quality for like 200 bucks. Make it take glock mags, and be reliable....they will fly off the shelves. As for Accuracy who the hell cares, its a slapped together SMG. Human size target at 100m is good enough.
I guess you could make an expensive accurate one for the gun snobs out there....

Not hard to figure out, off its prohibited. On, its a dewat. Cut a barrel short on any firearm and its prohibited. You cant shorten a barrel on a prohibited 12x even though its already prohibited. You have to buy a manufactured barrel, and you cannot use a old sten mag well to build a semi auto no more then the RCMP approving a Browning 50 unless the side plate is new. The usa has its own confusing laws. Point is, Make sure you know the law
