How reliably would 9mm feed from Beretta 96 .40 S&W magazines?

Has anyone tried this?

Any word on the quality of Corwin Arms magazines?

The OEM Beretta mags work flawlessly for me in all of my 92 pistols and CX4. Can't comment on the aftermarket ones Corwin carries.

Plus One. Work great. I do find my 92A1 locks back with the last round in the chamber hanging on the extractor. Other than that the mags run just fine. The follower on the 40cal is shaped a bit differently than the 9MM follower causing the slide stop to be pushed up locking the slide. The mag bodies seem to be identical. The slides on the 92A! are different than the slides on the 92FS. This might be the reason for the difference in performance. My CX4 Storm runs flawlesslywith the 40cal mags.

Take Care

No expeience with Beretta here. But on my FNS9/40 and Ruger P-89/P91, 40SW mags work with 9mm ammo and vice versa. However, you may notice, as I have, that 9mm cartridges in 40SW mags are barely held in place by the mag lips, dangerously close to slipping out. Therefore 9mm cartridges are tilted up and may cause feeding problems in an inopportune moment.

40SW cartridges are held very securely, obviously, in 9mm mags.

Hence, as Ebola said above, I will not trust my life to 40SW mags with 9mm cartridges. Range use, yes, I do it all the time. I dire situations, like losing all my 9mm mags, I have peace of mind that they will work interchangeably well enough.
