So an AR is on the cards in the next month so I'm looking at scopes/sights

What's a good sight/scope to start with?

I've been looking at the SPARC AR RED DOT but is this an option?

Thanks for any info

For action shooting red dot like a Holosun should be good enough usually. You can add a Vortex X3 Magnifier so if you have more than one AR in future you can just move that around without touching the red dot (wont' loose zero that way). That's what I would start instead of sinking into the expensive stuff ;)

I’m pretty stoked on my vortex crossfire red dot. For $200 it’s pretty decent, I’m sure it’s no aimpoint but my 45-70 hasn’t rattled its guts out yet.

I would go Sig Romeo 5, if you want Vortex then Sparc AR or Crossfire. M0ney saved can go to ammo. You can always add a Magnifier from either brand.

The Vortex Sparc AR is a great little sight for the money. The Aimpoint PRO is better, but it's bigger, heavier, and more money. Don't shy away from the Eotech's either. I own all of these, and they all do what I need them to do. Just depends on what style you like. You can add magnifiers to all of these as well on a flip mount.

If you want a scope, each manufacturer makes an AR line now. I've had good luck with the Nikon P and M series on my AR's
