Ar15 I built
brand new areo upper used 20" hbar barrel complete I installed barrel and have done several with no problems (torqued to spec I don't have in front of me) square marked carry handle

sighted in at 25 meter using the sights (detachable carry handle Square marked and the factory front sight on a M4 25M target) from a bench rest

with rear sight centered small aperture rifle shoots approx. 2' left at 25m to get it centered I needed to move rear sight to the right 13 clicks

I needed to more rear sight to the right 13 clicks to get centered I tried 2 carry handles both same results

I though the rear sight was crooked to the left but changing carry handles produced same groups to left

several of us eyeballed the rifle and the front sight may be off to the right a bit its factory pinned.....

so any suggestions to correct this? I really want the sight centered it does work where it is and groups are now centered but I want sight centered!

Maybe get some help for your OCD.

I have been thinking of an answer within those lines for 30mins, that will do it.

Here are my back up sights. At work, most sights that are actually sighted in are not centered. Right handed shooters are off center to the right and vice versa for the lefties. Don't worry about it too much if you can actually group properly.

Lose the carry handle and front A2 gas block for a low pro one, get a free floating handguard and optics. Problem solved. :)

Well, if indeed the front sight is canted, laser bore sight it as is, remove the barrel, true up the upper receiver by lapping it to see if it is uneven, reinstall the barrel, see if the index pin isn't slightly undersized, reassemble and laser bore sight it and see if it shifted more to center.

To get the aperture more centered, you will need to get the rear sight more in line with the carry handle. This off center is common on carry handle sight as there is a detent on the left side of the assembly. To get that rear sight centered, you will need to shim the front facing side just enough to center it. You can probably find YouTube vids on how to do it. One technique is to remove the sight and bed it with JB Weld. If you do decide to disassemble it, watch some videos first because there are two detents and three springs under compression.

Thats actually not very bad group and normal group for non free float gun. As stated above, right shooter will have BUIS crank to the right and leftie to the left. It is what it is. It will help if you have a 2 stage trigger and you will find that the group now moves to tge right a tad
