Kodiak cz858 not semi firing.

Took my Kodiak cz858 out yesterday, first 20 rounds had the same "gremlin" dead trigger 8 times.
The next 10 rounds it started to give me 2 and 3 round bursts with one trigger pull, then dead trigger.
From then on it went to full auto. Pull the bolt back, release, and it starts to fire without touching the trigger, and it fires by itself till the mag is empty. All non corrosive ammo. While this is great fun, I cannot believe the lack of quality control at Kodiak. Stuck firing pin likely.

Good job Kodiak. 2 weeks old and hasn't worked right since I unboxed it.

You should email them also. It seems like they dont realize it may be a trend.

Ive only shot 200 rounds. Longest ive gone is 35 shots before the gremlin. Soon after every 4-5 shots stoppage. Sucks cause ill have to cough up dollars to ship it back. The rifle was already expensive as is at 1299. I am a bit skeptical now on the 180c . Maybe ill stick with the maccabee NR receiver for my NR build on my next purchase.

The striker is re-cocked long before the empty case hits the ejector, if the gun ejects it's well past the reset.

If the "gremlin" is a known problem with a 60 year old design...... you would think they would have changed the design decades ago?

Even the tab is a pretty simple "fix". I'm not to up on the roots problem associated with the so called "gremlin" but can anyone explain why it does not effect all models?

What about the sear? Is the circlip still in place on the pin that captures the sear?
I would be interested to hear why Kodiak didn't tab the carrier's if there is a chance of the so called Gremlin popping up?

The Gremlin is a result of how they turned the design into semi-auto (remove parts), there is no real dedicated disconnect, so the sear/hammer get bound up.
If you pull the trigger hard to the rear when shooting and hold it there, sometimes that works. The gremlin usually happens when the trigger is pulled lightly and everything binds up. Pushing the trigger forward can reset the dead trigger as well.
Very dangerous conversion to say the least.

I haven't taken mine apart yet, I bought an cz and don't have a problem.

The gremlin doesn’t affect rifles with an auto sear. It’s only when you neuter it that you get the problem.
 
Thanks Hitzy and Walther, makes sense.

I spoke with Kodiak a while back and apparently CSA has a patent on the tabbed carrier so they told me they made the disconector (or what ever the part is that hits the bottom of the bolt carrier) a bit longer to deal with the issue..... when I compared it to another CZ it looked to be the same length or if anything a bit shorter.
I was not that impressed with the Kodiak version and I returned it unfired to Wolverine for a refund.

SO YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE RIFLE AND YOU LIST IT IN THE EE for 1250$ knowing you have problems.....low brow brah low brow !!!! get it fixed, disclose then sell it... I just went to the EE MIL/BLACK Rifle forum and i see your name selling the same model gun you complain about here.... YOu ShADY !!!!!
