So I'm planning on setting the wheels in motion for my first AR build and I'm looking at triggers
Should I run the milspec one that comes with the kit (cheap option) or go straight to a Geisselle (expensive option)
My main use initially will be range time based but with the current trade war happening I'm wondering if prices are going to jump soon and I should bite the bullet now?

If you want to upgrade the ACT is great.

Or if you want try a trigger job. Do a bit of research on YouTube or Google and give er a go.

I did and it is very comparable to the ACT... And free.... I have done all of my AR triggers. And even a few of my buddies.
And my sig 226.... and my... well once you start.... all your guns can get inproved and personalized.

Plus if you mess it up, you can buy the ACT and be on your way.

Run the OEM one and once you shot a bit with it you'll know if you need a different trigger kit to accomodate your needs. You may find out that the milspec cheapy is good enough for what you're are doing.

I'm happy with my stock unit, works for all activities involving my ARs and money I could have spent for a trigger went for more ammo.

I would suggest the ALG ACT trigger.

Very affordable and alot better then a standard milspec trigger. You can then just buy a LPK without a trigger group.

After having the ACT I don't plan on ever buying a standard milspec trigger, this one is extremely affordable and it's a world of difference.

Is that a good deal to get the Geissele lpk and the ALG trigger?

I'm probably going to attempt to build the lower myself and have the upper built...

I have a RRA 2 stage on one ar. It’s not light but it’s crisp enough. It’s a very positive trigger. It’s done me well. I also have another with an elftmann. It’s like breaking a thin glass rod. Higher chance of ND but shoots great.

I agree with this 100%. I don't think you can go wrong for the money.

This is where I purchased my parts for my lower build.

I just went with the ALG LPK without the grip and trigger. Then purchased the ACT trigger and a Magpul grip. The Giessele LPK is good as well of course.

No reason buying an LPK with the milspec trigger and a2 grip if you're going to upgrade and replace them anyway.

To be clear, the ALG and Geissele LPK are the same items. ALG started selling parts first, then they added the product to the GA line as well. We actually order these through Geissele these days.

ALG are a good choice if you don't have the patience to wait for your OEM mil spec trigger to worn in, spend the money on ammo by the time you pull the trigger a few hundred times it will feel nice and smooth.
