Does anyone know if these match well? I have a Diemaco stock set but can't find a green carbine handguard so I was contemplating getting a Magpul OD one. Problem is I'm not sure if it's gonna match. I've looked on the internet and tried to compare mine with Magpul photos but still not convinced one way or another... being colour blind to some degree isn't helping me much either so I've asked my wife and kids but their answers are mixed and unsure as well. Another thought I had was to get an aluminum rail and some Magpul OD rail covers so that if there is a difference it might not be as obvious but I'd really just prefer plastic. Yes, I suffer from chronic OCD.

With my reading glasses on, the Magpul OD (I'm a Magpul #####...) looks a tad darker/shady(ier). But then that's my old eyes acting up.

Buy a set, one can always sell it on the EE forum here!

Cheers and keep us advised what direction you take!

Do you have both side by side to compare or are you lookin at internet photos? The internet photo thing is what is making this so difficult as lighting can affect the colour.

Honestly, there isn't a standard Diemaco green in my opinion. I could pull samples from the rack and you'll be lucky to get a similar shade, let alone a dead match.

The KAC panels match, if you want to run a RAS. They were made for Norway and JTF2. If you find a maple leaf on the back of the panel it's a Canadian over run. KAC did sell the over run according Trey.

which Diemaco parts are you looking to match the Magpul to? the Diemaco are all different shades of green

Fab Defense makes a close match, for the "look", but it has the logo on the top/bottom and the ribs are all slightly off. colour is good. found some no name ones that matched better but they are hard to find. again the ribs and texture are off.

Variations exist to be sure but they are all supposed to be to the "Canadian Average Green" specs. Aside from Colt Canada the only other company making CAG is ITW Nexus AFAIK.

Slimmer ones .

The Armalites are also out of production, as far as I can tell--they're even clearancing the rifle-length counterparts. Palmetto's got carbine-length on some M4's in OD, but they're seven-holers and look like fatties. Here in the US, Tony's Customs and Model 1 Sales both have a six-hole skinny green that looks structurally close, but I'm not sure if the ribs and colors are right and I'm not sure about posting direct links--these two were my Plan B's when Armalite went "We're Done".

I had model 1 sales handguards. They were as close as i could get before i got real ones.

Not like it matters. To the casual observer almost any slim green looks right. But to a guy that knows his diemaco it will all look wrong.

Just my experience and opinion, but the Armalite OD green blends better into environments and has better camouflage qualities than the Diemaco/Colt Canada green. The shade is more muted.
