Going back a number of years, a gunshop in Edmonton was (at that time) the only importer of Wilson Combat in Canada. They brought in a batch or two of the Wilson bull barrel (bushingless) commanders which like the EDC9 has a stock 4” barrel. The were a special run for the Canadian distributor and had either 4.2 or 4.25” barrels. They looked not bad, in my opinion.

I can’t seem to find any pics of the old Wilson’s but they looked very similar to the Canadian legal Kimber Pro Carry which also has a 4” barrel as standard. So just to give you guys an idea of what to expect for the barrel protrusion, here’s a pic of one of the Kimbers.

Also, to the best of my knowledge, Wilson has no plans to introduce a longer version. Given that it was designed from the ground up to be a double stack 9mm for EDC; but one that retains familiar 1911 ergonomics and controls; a longer version doesn’t appear to be in their radar. At least not at this time.
 
Why not just have gone the TB route, surely that would have made up the required length without looking quite so out of place maybe?
 
Not sure why the barrel flange was not an option. Can't say I'm a fan of it either, but it would have made for a more integrated package.
 
It sticks out about the same amount as a 106mm Glock 19 barrel. It could be a lot worse.
 
Those who hate the Pinocchio barrel can always order a Wilson ULC Commander compact at the cost of 2 rounds (7 rounds in USA), and a bit more cash.

Nice!! I see you bought the Beretta 1301 tactical as well! You're buying all the guns I can't afford right now. I know who I'll be living vicariously through for the next little while! :d

I've watched a couple videos of Wilson Combat guns with the protruding stainless barrels and I think the blacked out barrel on the EDC X9 would definitely blend better then the Stainless.
Will be nice to know whether the blacked out barrel option will be possible or not.

Just confirmed from WILSON COMBAT, yes they will offer blackout barrels at no extra cost!
