Hello All,

I have looked through the threads on the BCL102 and was considering what people's experiences were with their BCL102 builds as I look to build my own BCL102 DMR rifle.

I purchased a used BCL102, which came with:

SLR adjustable gas block
SLR Hand guard
SLR Muzzle Brake
Geiselle G2S trigger
Magpul MOE Grip

After receiving the rifle I decided to take it to the range and sadly have been experiencing failure to eject issues (also while the rifle is feeding the next round).

I have read that it was an issue with the ejector so I decided to upgrade the rifle (always the plan), but wanted to make sure that anyone that has a Gen 1 hasn't had issues installing these parts in a Gen 1 as well as any recommendations on other parts that have increased the reliability and accuracy of the rifle.

My average group while shooting the current BCL102 was around 5 MOA with Ball ammo and 3 MOA with match. Can shoot my TRG22 <0.5 MOA with match ammo, so I don't think it is the shooter and the mount and scope are both secured correctly to the rifle and scope mount respectively.

Stock:
Luth MBA3
or
B5 Sopmod Stock
or
Magpul PRS Gen 2 or 3

Going to get the 308 AR Silent Captured Spring Gen 2 H2 w/ Alt Spring Pack

Barrel:
I am going to speak with Jerry from Mystic Preision, but was originally looking at a Krieger (any recommendations always appreciated). Looking around the 20 inch range (could be persuaded to set up something to 18.6. Not sure about twist rate. Going to shoot 155-178 grain.

Triggers:
I am currently stuck between getting the Geissele Single-Stage Precision (SSP) Flat Bow
or
Geissele Hi-Speed National Match - Trigger Set (not sure if I need the Large Pin)

Bolt:
I am not sure, which would fit the BCL 102 best, but currently looking at:

Brownells 308 AR Titanium Bolt Carrier Group 308 Win DLC MP

DPMS AR-308 Bolt/Carrier Assembly, Parkerized

JP .308 Low Mass Bolt Carrier with QPQ

JP .308 Low Mass Special Polish Stainless Carrier with key

Bolt Parts:
Not sure what parts would be recommended to go into the bolt carrier.

Gas Block:
SLR adjustable gas seems ideal for now.

Handguard:
SLR Handguard seems ideal for now.

Muzzle Brake:
SLR Muzzlebrake seems fine for now, but could use an upgrade.

Optic (already purchased/mounted):
Bushnell HDMR2 with H59 Reticle

Scope Mount (already purchased/mounted):

Geissele Super Precision Scope Mount

I am not sure if anyone has any recommended parts, but will see how this build goes when I purchase parts on Brownells for 4th of July sale.

If you're going for accuracy I'd probably go with the prs stock. I would get a matching bolt to the barrel. Could get the barrel and bolt that jp uses in their lrp07 rifles.

I didn't read your post carefully the first time and thought for some reason .5moa with ball and .3moa with match....wondered why on earth you would change anything, lol!

Need some coffee to wake up...

Personally I wouldn't go with the Geissele SSP for a long range setup, just my opinion but a two-stage provides better accuracy for targets. I'm running the flat bow CMC 2-stage and it's awesome. Geissele SSA-E (High-Speed NM if you want to spend more) would be a great choice as well (you asked about pin size - it takes any small pin and some AR-15 drop ins work fine as long as hammer springs are heavy enough. CMC's work from my experience).

Most guys are reporting much better than your groups, but the quality has been all over so I'm assuming your barrel is a below average copy. For the money, Fulton's lineup of Criterion and Kriegers is awesome and guys report great groups. Great combination of value, quality, and range of profiles and lengths. Add to that Fulton will match your barrel and a bolt.

You asked about other Gen1 builds... my plan was to shoot sub-MOA with most match loads, <2 MOA with surplus while still being lightweight and tough to haul on foot in the woods. It's doing that no problem with the Criterion/Fulton Lightweight 18.5" and Fulton NiB-X matched bolt, although I haven't done extensive shooting I did with the original barrel. Maybe later this summer. Last year my factory barrel shot sub-MOA with 168 grain Federal GMM, most match and hunting loads were 1-2 MOA. Surplus shot 2-3 MOA.

I stayed away from the heavy PRS and UBR stocks and 2.5+ lb barrels. Very happy with the results, my gun is 8.0 lbs without optics and functions flawlessly, much less recoil than stock with the adjustable gas block. Trigger is a 10/10 in my opinion. Fixed stock will take a mortar slam without shattering. LOP perfect for me. Short as I can get a barrel and be non-restricted. This is essentially my ultimate multi-purpose 308 while keeping price in check.

Build list:

Gen 1 BCL-102
Criterion/Fulton 18.5" Lightweight Chrome Barrel
Fulton Armory NiB-X Bolt in the factory BCG
SLR 0.750 Adjustable Gas Block
Fulton Armalite Length Gas Tube
SLR 13.5" Helix Handguard
SLR Mini 30 Brake
CMC Flat Face 1lb+3lb 2 Stage Trigger
Geissele Super Charging Handle
Radian Ambi Safeties
POF Roller Cam Pin
Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock and Extended PRS Butt Pad
Magpul MOE + Grip
Ergo Mlok Grips
Lancer / IMI / XCR-M Pistol Mags

Optics:
Midrange/Lightweight - Zeiss 3-12x50mm on Aeroprecision Mount (20 oz combined)
Lightweight/CQB - Holosun HS510C

I just ordered a Gieselle trigger from Brownells ($200 Cad shipped).
Just had to sign an end user agreement.

Also ordered 6 barrels and 4 BCG from Christensen Arms.
Prophet River took care of it all. Cost me $100 + gst.

UBR 2 worked fine in my Gen2, doesnt capture buffer retaining pin.
If this an issue for you get a JP Enterprises Silent Cptured Spring.Done deal.

I put a UBR2 on a Gen 2 and it threaded down enough to engage over the buffer retaining pin.
Maybe touch the threads so it will screw in a bit more?

That looks like a great setup. I will be going with the 2-stage geiselle NM when I get some more funds together. I am still considering a PRS style stock, but like you would like to keep the weight down.
