In my former country of residence, mandatory psych tests are already in place since 2003. And we kill 60,000 people each year.

Needless to say that i, as a public official, did not have to pass that test to get my statutory and unconditional ATC.

Because out of over 2 million licensed gun owners we have only just under 80,000 signatures for E-1608! Most don't give a crap or think it doesn't effect them so why bother. In the U.S. they fight for their rights and are organised, in Canada nobody gives a ####!

I wouldn’t count on that, lifetime background checks and all of a sudden they see something they don’t like and don’t renew your pal, then the RCMP decide to ban semi autos and then you have to resort back to a pump....... every one who has a PAL has to worry, but we’re so quick to throw each other in front of the bus for our own gain it saves the government a lot of work.........

I'm a hunter first..... sport shooting and ranges aren't my thing at all ..... but I've never voted for a Liberal in my life and have no intention of doing so for any reason for the duration of my time on this rock. I own semi auto , hunt with both semi auto and bolt guns. Blaming us hunters for Liberal anti gun legislation is ludicrous at best.
A large part of this country votes liberal and that right there is the problem, not hunters.

I don't think he's blaming hunters in terms of voting for liberals but I feel like he's saying that's most hunters didn't feel directly implicated by the bill so didn't really do anything .
2 mil pal holders in Canada , I would say a good portion are hunters . If 2 mil people got up in arms about anything , the government would hush down real quick .

Well that pretty ####ty thats like not even 5%.....alot are not informed of the petitions unless they on this site....and yes even the guys at work and people I talk to who own firearms dont even wanna hear what I tell about the bans that will take place....you are right noone cares....
 
The problem with gun culture, no matter where, is many hunters are Fuddtard Kapos like Jim Zumbo used to be who think "Muh Bambi-Blasters!" are the only things that matter and anything else is so alien to them it MUST be wrong and thrown under the bus in the name of "appearing reasonable" to the rabid opposition in the hope that they will be targeted last.

ANY gun owner anywhere supporting ANY kind of Gun Grabber is like a chicken trying to get a job with Colonel Sanders or a Jew trying to join the Schutzstaffel.
 
Next front of battle will be the senate. They didn't rubber stamp the marijuana bill and actually submitted amendments. Perhaps they elders can actually see the folly of Selfie the clown.
 
This is exactly what happens when we live in a country that does not value individual liberty or freedom at all. What part of your life doesn’t face governmental intrusion, even on your own property...

Pretty new to gun ownership here so it may seems a stupid question, but isnt there like a canadian organisation similar to the american NRA? Way easier to get thing done when we are all on the same page

Are your NFA of a "Stand and Fight" mindset? If so, they might want to see about reaching out to our NRA Institute for Legislative Action for advice, mentorship and maybe to set up an international "working group" to coordinate how us shooters can help each other from both sides. Maybe GOA and JPFO might be worthwhile to reach out to as well... I'd suggest Second Amendment Foundation as well, except for your lack of a codified right comparable to ours. (SAF is the powerhouse who gets the court wins like McDonald and the two Heller cases.)

And EVERY BLOODY TIME we get to 1st-and-Goal with Nationwide Carry or Suppressor Deregulation or some other common-sense gun law, some Lefty whackjob goes out and shoots up a bunch of people and puts a stop to it, almost like these nutbars are being coordinated. Other than that, we may have a draw at the Federal level, but we're fighting and losing a defensive war on the Left Coast--until the latest wave of Commiefornia Invaders, Oregon and Washington have been historically very gun-friendly, WA even *invented* Shall Issue carry permits thirty years before the rest of the country!
