Python Fans

Regular nickle pythons go for more than that..
It will go higher.

As the owner of a Nickle Python I wish your first statement was correct but I'm afraid I have to disagree.

As to what this gun may go for.....who knows. It's an auction and they are notoriously hard to predict. It really depends on who is there on the day and if any two bidders get carried away.

You can disagree all you like if that means you will sell your python below market value for some other lucky guy to get ....
I have one as well ...
And I watch the auctions

This was a few months ago. Just a regular one, after you ad in the auction fee and tax the buyer paid around 6k.

I tend to agree, I have an as NIB Python with all paperwork, and have seen similar going for around $5k and more on auctions. I like mine a bit, and it wouldn't leave me for less...

Fair enough but "market value" in the USA is way-way higher than "market value" in Canada.

Based on my prior statement and belief, if one sold at market for $5K USD in the USA, I doubt you would see $5K CAD in Canada for the equivalent gun. There will be exceptions of course and being a Python owner myself, I would be very pleased if you did. Sounds like you don't care one way or the other...which is certainly a good position to be in.

The auction I shared the link for was a Canadian auction :)
But I do agree certain things do go for more in the states .... but alot is cheaper too. I have bought things there that even after taxes and import fees I saved hundreds sometimes more.

Sums it up nicely...I don't want or need to sell, but if somebody throws crazy money at me I guess it's for sale. Though I'd probably regret it. Like selling my 5" 5 screw Pre Model 27 recently. A guy has to be careful joking about what he will sell. *sigh* Well, at least the new proud owner loves it.

Yes,but represented as being unfired, 10/10 like new condition with box and all paperwork. Hardly your run of the mill, everyday Python (nickle or otherwise) when it comes to value.

I've found as a rule of thumb that high end collectible guns tend to go for more in the US while the lower value stuff tends to be cheaper there.

And for this reason, I'm not really into selling for the most part, as there is a good chance I will be relocating south in the next couple years. At the point, I can probably get more US dollars for some of my collection, than I can get in CDN dollars here.....It's going to be a lot of paperwork to move them all though! Particularly the Alberta Python, I have to get CITES certificate because of the ivory grips and accessories. It can be done though from what I have learned so far. The only place that one would get sold is probably on a Rock Island Auction, with lots of 'pre hype' LOL.....

Sold for $4100 bid so $4715 with 15% buyer's premium plus applicable tax and shipping.

Some other interesting guns that were sold today (prices are plus the 15% BP plus tax and shipping)

Remington Rand 1911a1 $1200
Ithaca frame with Union Switch and Signal slide 1911a1 $2500
Sig P-210 with Target sights in .30 Luger (P prefix serial number) $2000
Occupation 3 lever Radom H block serial number $1200
