Haha great read! I guess I’m a little bit of a “fudd” myself out of all the rifles I own only one is a black rifle an AR done up like an M16 just to keep the numbers up

I've never held an RDB, but I believe basically all bullpups have a chamber access issue - I can't think of one that does not.

The Modern Hunter is just another AR-type rifle to me. I'm sure it's well-made and accurate...although, like all of these guns, there are plenty of posts detailing problems that owners have, or at least imagine they have...but it's still the same-old, same-old. I've had AR's, never grew to like them, and don't miss them.
The Kel-Tec feels cheap? Yep, for sure...but again, all of these black plastic gizmos feel that way to me. I owned a couple of Swiss Arms over the years, preferred them slightly to AR's, but couldn't see what the fuss was about. Okay, here comes the heresy...flamethrowers ready...a Swiss Arms rifle is also just another rifle,made with plastic and black metal. It may do the job, but it combines all the ugliness of this type of gun with the archaic design of traditional wood/steel rifles, i.e. all the working bits hanging out in space in front of you, held together by a big chunk of wood (or plastic) that may (or may not) look beautiful but serves no real purpose other than to take up space.
Notice the "F-word" in the thread title; I love classic wood/steel guns, but I'm not blind to their downfalls. Black rifles...almost all of 'em...share those downfalls, and throw in a bunch of their own. The supposed benefits they offer are...to a Fudd...pretty much illusory. I couldn't give a rat's ass about fast mag changes; my only interest regarding that is how quickly I can get rid of that ridiculous 5/30 monstrosity poking out the bottom and replacing it with a compact 5-rounder that improves the handling of the gun. Firefights? I want a gun that won't slow me down as I run like hell to avoid getting into such a pickle.
I shoot for one reason: because I enjoy it. These two guns grabbed my attention because of their bullpup configuration, along with the unique methods of brass ejection they offer. They actually offer something new, something that really does increase my enjoyment. So far, I haven't picked one of them up and thought to myself "Why did I buy this thing?", but of course it's still early and that might happen down the road. Time will tell. Fudds think slowly.

Would this be the case with bullpups that eject in a normal out-the-side fashion as well?
I'm curious about bolt-action bullpups; it appears as though the position of the bolt handle would make for awkward manipulation. Have Desert Tech owners made that complaint?
As long as I am design-fantasizing...I am a fan of the Blaser straight-pull bolt action. It's superfast and easy to operate. I can't help but wonder if a bullpup Blaser would not be the perfect hunting gun...but now I'm starting to get a Fudd headache.

I think a pump action bullpup rifle would be decent. Or a linkage operated bolt action that places the bolt up by your left hand. Like the charging handle on a Tavor. Or if someone could develop a bullpup break action: imagine a 40" barreled 264 Win Mag! Speeeed!
I own an AR, have used a Tavor, and ordered a WK180-C. But I hunt with a stainless Savage 116 with the factory sporter accustock and a 3-rd flush magazine. I much prefer the ergos on it for being in the woods.

In addition to the mag well, the Tavor, Aug and others typically have a regular ejection port ala most semi autos. Even the FS2000 with its innovative forward ejection function, has a top chamber port (toilet lid).
The RDB only has the mag well.
Kind of a half baked design - Not completely unexpected from Kel-Tec.
Kel-Tec has GREAT design ideas. I feel most of their stuff is plasticky garbage (COUGH *SU-16* COUGH). But that's just me, and those are my requirements. I personally don't care if a design offers weight savings if it's brittle, unreliable, susceptible to temperature extremes, falls etc
I owned a Sub2000, it was reliable after about 500 rounds to loosen it up.
Owned an RFB gen 2 and really enjoyed it, was reliable and about 1.5moa with handloads. Still miss it sometimes and wonder why I sold it.
Owned a KSG, was also impressed with it, worked great just don't shoot 12ga as much as I should to justify it so I sold it.
Have shot a few SU-16's and wasn't impressed with them other than the FX version or whatever it's called that looks more like an AR. Seems much better built than the SU-16.
I never understood why so many people bashed the RFB about it needing the gas system adjusted every time you change ammo. How often does a person switch ammo? Once I find what the rifle likes I stick with it so finding the right gas setting takes about 5 shots then open it up a click or two so it functions when dirty and never touch it again.
I may try to find another RFB one day but I seem to have more semi auto 308's and 223's than I have time to shoot and do load development for so I'm in no rush to get another.
Glad to hear more guys with positive experiences with the RFB and I'm looking forward to some range reports on the RDB, I held one at the gun store the other day but haven't shot one yet. Seemed like it was just as well made as the RFB.

I don't wish to disparage you, as I don't know you. I have a Tavor, An RFB, a T97 and about 6 AR platform rifles in .223 and .308. As well as around 30 other MILSPEC Rifles as well as a number of FUDD rifles, shotguns and the Devil's own handguns-2 .44 Magnum Revolvers, Glocks, 1911 .45 ACPs and even a Desert Eagle.50 AE and about 20 more handguns of various calibers. People like you need to realize that guns are guns to the useless, ####ing antis. Doesn't matter if it's a .22 single shot or a SAW. And all you stupid ####ers should realize that when they finally take my bad guns, they will then come for and take yours. Unity is all we have, but unity is so far away from kanadian gun owners that I fear we will never have a chance to save our rights.
