Any good Canadian suppliers of Laminate blanks?

If not does anyone know if Boyds will do custom length blanks? Looking for a finished length of 34" and the blanks they list are only 32.5"

Also anyone who has bought one from them and had them shipped to Canada, what was the approx shipping cost?

Thanks

I think if you approached Boyd's they maybe able to help, as the sheets they manufacture the stocks from will be 36" inches long.

If not, there are a number of specialty laminate suppliers who can supply unusual veneers / laminates. You could even make your own, which is something I am looking to do in the future. It does not appear that complicated.

Depending on what you are looking for, and how well skilled and equipped you are anything is possible.

Candocad.

I used to order slabs from Boyd's, they were big enough to get 2 stocks out of, 14 inches wide and 38 inches long.....but don't quote me on the length it's been a while since i was in the custom stock making market.

may have been fedex, was a long time ago......the bill wasn't to bad, and it was something you couldn't get locally, so what is one going to do? add it to the cost the customer paid for a stock....what else can you do??

but the light just went off.....there was a guy in canada selling laminate blanks out of Saskatchewan, pretty sure that's where I got the last ones I used from, he had an add in the EE some time back. If you do a search for laminate henry ranch hand rear stock group buy you might get a clue as to where i got the laminate, not sure if the guy with the machine got banned from cgn but he was either associated with the material or can point you in the direction of the member who was. I sold my duplicator last year and prior to that had only been using it to collect dust for 3 or 4 years

I ordered a Boyd's stock a few months ago and I got charged $50ish for shipping and another $45 in border fees. Really wasn't worth it after seeing how poorly the stock was finished.

The blanks I was looking for are the ones likes Boyds sells just a different size. Im not sure what wood is used but its a hardwood. The layers are very thin layers of alternating colors.

I finally heard back from Richards as well but the want a 95 dollar export fee ontop of everything.

I think Im going to get a sheet of Baltic Birch 1/2" ply and use it.
