I have been tinkering with a Savage 93R17 GV. This is a heavy barrelled rifle in a wooden stock. Accuracy has been OK, getting about 1.5 MOA at 100 yards when no wind (10 shot groups). During last cleaning found that the forward roll pin that helps connect the barrel to the action was contacting the stock on the left side. This may be a common problem, so I thought I would post.

Here is a close up of the roll pin covered in wood chips.

I drifted the pin further to left, covered it with making tape and filed with a small flat diamond file. Then removed the tape and drifted the the pin a little to the right.

Below is a picture of current accuracy. Will try to reshoot in the next week and see if things improve.
