Contact nordic marksman see if they'll split a mrr apart. Otherwise find someone with a mrr. Just so you know the mrr uses a propietary gas block and mounting method i think the gen 3 iurs do as well. So you will need the cc gas block for that as well. And the straight gas tube.

They deploy two CC versions, the 10" short barrel is intended for protection work and CQB, and supposedly they now favour them over the MP5. The CC 15.7" barreled version is of course the one normally deployed for use in the field.
 
Cool. I have one of the Danish contract overruns and enviously watched the 10.5" SAS ones sell. I'm interested in swapping for the shorter barrel if you want a 15.7" barrel, but I'd have to find the tool or someone to take it off. Are the tools available to the public?

10" has been running since XM177 time. The issue is mainly to do with commercial clones, especially the non-Colt non-LMT guns made 15 years ago.

In 2018 everyone knows how to make a 10" gun work.

Wife got me 11.6MRR for our anniversary. Separation anxiety from the MP-5 is almost nil now !

Short barrel guns excel at cqb. House to house a compact firearm is very helpful. Also if they add a can on it then its still a reasonably doable form factor.

And you don't have to worry about reliability from cc. If you assemble it correctly tue gun should run like a top.

Yes, the 10" or 11.6 have decent gas port sizes, so they can run 223 ammo as well fairly well.

The gas port on the 10” IUR barrel is massive. Bigger than the Mk 18. So it should be very reliable, even with cheap ammo. I’ve read somewhere that the British Royal Marines close protection unit uses “low velocity” ammunition to “minimize collateral damage” and that would account for the giant gaping hole that is the IUR gas port, but don’t quote me on that.
 
Gas ports:

Colt MK18 is .070
CC SAS 10" is .073

Still smaller than DD MK18 barrels at .080, which are oversized to run any (weaker) commercial ammo like wolf, PMC 223 etc.
 
And replying to my own question: The RCMP would consider it prohibited because the alterations bringing it to the same legal end state it is currently in would not be factory. Got to love our gun laws.
