Ipsic pistol classifications

Canik. The trigger, out of the box, is about 3.75 lb. So that is why it does not make Production.

The barrel is 5" and not ported.

The FNS40L is ok for production (as i have learned here - thank you) and I have an 180 gr accuracy load at 750 fps. That is a PF of 135, so I am GTG with that.

yesterday I shot some falling plates with my CZ75. I got 100% hits on double action (never really shot double action before) but first shot was slower. DA is 6.5 lb. SA is 2.5 lb.

Shooting these 2 pistols, I can see the issue. Heavy first trigger vs moderate all trigger.

I take my Black badge next week. 2 days of shooting. Maybe I will use one pistol one day and the other on day 2. That might help me choose.

I'm not certain but I'm guessing this is a response about the Canik? If so it's the trigger pull and barrel length alone that keep it from Production. The barrel isn't ported and Factory slide ports/cuts won't keep you off the production gun list (see Walther Q5 Match, Grand Power X-Trim, etc etc)

Sorry bit out of date on the rules. But it used to.

5.3", same reason why Glock 34 isn't allowed.

Just use the same gun to complete. The 2 days is just to complete a check list that required. If your a good shooter, it won't take long. Honestly the gun doesn't matter for the BB course. I did mine using a Glock 17 C. I seen someone use a 44 mag revolver.

Than once you got your BB course, you can attend club practices and than decide. Or one of your first matches, than use one for the other. You won't know how a gun will run till you try it in a match.

Ya. I have discovered in CQB that the tack driver on the bullseye range is not the best pistol when shooting for speed and accuracy.

Just pick the most reliable gun you have. Just use one gun for the BB course, and than at matches or club practice try to use new guns.

That's what Ive been doing on club league. Once I get a good score and a base number and idea. I switch out my gun and shoot the same COF and see if it's better or worst. That's how I found that optic mounted reddot was a disadvantage. I tried for over a month, tried co witness sights. And nothing improved. Went back to iron sight and improved.

Just make sure that you have a suitable holster and at least four mags or speedloaders for the firearm you are planning on using. Also make sure it is reliable and reasonably accurate with the ammo as well.

Does a TP9SFx even fit in the box?
I haven’t tried it yet but I don’t feel confident it would fit.
And if it doesn’t fit; welcome to open :)

I can't say I've seen it personally but I know one of the Wolverine guys is shooting one in Standard here locally. I know he shot it at our last Provincials which had a gun check/Chrony station so I'm guessing it passed. Perhaps Wolverine303 will see this and chime in?

It fits in the box, can't use +2 base plates though!! Been running it for Standard Minor here in MB, runs great as long as you have a peppy round behind it. Light stuff just hugging the 125 PF Minimum doesn't cycle reliably in them. I have had to up the powder a bit more to get everything plugging away, now that she is eating the right ammo, I don't have a single issue.... regarding the pistol not my shooting skills :p

I look forward to trying a number of my pistols, just to see how they run:

M&P 9
M&P40 (mild ammo)
Glock 23
Canik FSx
Girsan MC26
Grand power K100
Grand Power XTrim
CZ75 (and 3 different CZ clones)
FNS 40L (mild ammo)

I did my BB course. used a FNS 40L on day 1 and a CZ75 on day 2.

I think I prefer the CZ. I can see why guys like the Shadow.

I look forward to shooting lots of practice sessions with various pistols.

My 13 yr old son shoots the M&P 40 in production and it is the dream for him. I think a heavy 40 calibre gun in production would be the best of both worlds, heavy and absolutly no muzzle movement. Watching his videos he has almost no muzzle movement with his. Just a side note for any of your 40 guns with light loads, you should adjust the springs because if you limp wrist at all you can run into issues, such as weak hand stages only.

Thanks. I shot a mini-match this week. Shoot a full match tomorrow at Waterloo.

So far the FNS40L was worked perfectly with mild ammo, single handed.

Congrats on getting your BB. Hope to run into you at a match in the near future. My son just got his BB and has shot his provisional and another match already. He's starting off in Classic Major with one of my backup 1911's that I transferred to him. I'm currently shooting Production (very badly I might add LOL) with a Shadow 2.

Ganderite
No need to worry waterloo is a lv2 match
Bring the prod pistol with 2 lbs trigger and shoot the loads with PF of 10
Kevin will not check
He doesn't even have a trigger Guage or a chronic.
U didn't hear that from me.

Laugh2

Rumours floating around that it's going to be a pretty kick ass match. Don't die in the heat though

Just doing ballpark math; You could theoretically shoot .40 at 700fps second.

That would be neat to try.

I shoot 40Lite in Production out of a Tanfoglio Stock3 Extreme. 180gr bullet with 4.1gr of HP38 (or Win231) gives me a MV of 730fps and a PF of around 130. Its a dream to shoot and less snappy than the 9's.
